Hey Ritter and Hickenpooper. Why don't you just take over our bank accounts and help yourselves to all our money. Would that satisfy you?

I protest!

This thread is anti-pea.

Anti-Pena I can understand, but what did the simple legume (pea) ever do to harm Denver taxpayers ?

Sure, there should be a toll for peas, who likes them anyway? I support the pea toll!

There should be a toll around Denver, especially around the city and county building and the state capitol - I would certainly favor tolls there.

As for Pena Blvd - it is yet another way to gouge people who must use the airport.

Hey, watch it with the trash talk. Until the cold freeze hit I was all ready to get my sugar snaps planted and am thinking about doing edamame (both in containers that can be dragged into the garage on bad weather days).

With the number of people that work at the airport and the different agreements the employers have with the city for parking, RTD passes etc. I'm wondering how the toll would work. Some of the employers now fully or partially pay to rent each space in the employee lots (employee has to fork over the rest). Some employers pay for part or all of an RTD pass, some don't. SkyRide was very popular with employees back when it only cost $4 bucks, but with the price increases more probably drive now. Paying a toll because you choose to use a private toll road to save time is one thing, but being forced to pay a toll to go to work on a road your taxes already paid to be built and maintained ? I'm for toll roads being restricted only for the cost to build that particular road and to maintain it once built (and only if voters have voted for a new tollway to be built). By the way, unless it would add an extreme amount to the budget, I'd also like us to be able to vote on names for new major roads and buildings that our taxes paid for. Just add it to the ballot on some other regularly scheduled election.

Yep, I doubt the mayor's staff would be very happy if there was a toll on each street accessing the parking lots around the city and county buildings.

If you really think that they are going to put a toll on the only real road in & out of the airport, you are officially ON CRACK!

I understand the whole "tax the tourist" thing, but this will NEVER, EVER fly.
