Hmmmmm....Prairie dogs = fleas = plague = predators that may be infected and ill will begin praying on "easier targets" ....Wonder if the nine coyotes shot have been tested for possible infectious diseases...Just a thought.

We lost our dog to a coyote that took him right away from me. I chased him but it did no good. I did report the killing to the Wildlife dept., at least for their stats....
My opinion probably won't be popular, but be that as it may, I believe these particular coyotes (those that plague Anthem, Broomfield, the Erie Airport area in general) are becoming more and more aggressive because they are never (or rarely) threatened. Nobody's shooting at them, and I know that it's not allowed anyway, with neighborhoods all over, I get that. Just the same, they need some natural fear, too. I've since moved to an area where farmers will shoot them and this seems to keep a healthier balance. I'm all for sharing space with the creatures who were here, I am down with that. But we have a right to be on the earth, too, and our culture is becoming so apologetic, as if animals are more important than human beings. I don't believe they are. Also, I have heard that golfers (near that area) are feeding them on the golf course, thinking it's cute somehow. I hope that isn't true, but if it is, it's idiotic.
