This young man has never in his 6 years been disciplined. This is why he felt he could take the keys, get his booster seat drive. Parents need to be given the righ to discipline their children. What will he do when he is 12 years old?

This child needs an old fashion spanking. I don't believe in abusing a child, however a butt spanking has never killed anyone. I have had my share. Kids are out of control these days because parents cannot discipline them the way our parents did. The sad part about it is that the kids know that.

funny story, thankfully no one was hurt. It could have turned much worse.
He does need to be punished, I agree on that!

You should have told the kid to stay away from the car. Then this all might not had happened, but sometimes parents or grandparents think that there kid knows what to do when actually they have no idea. So parents or grandparents should tell the kids about such things just to be on the save side.

This is a story with a humorus trust. The child is only following what he sees his grandmother do. I am glad that the child is unharm and no other freak accidents happen as a result of this. But someone has to teach Johnny Boy here a lesson - that all things are not permissble because you see one or two people do it. Grandma can drive cause she has a license -- hopefully he will learn from this lesson

I bet his grandmother let him sit in the drivers seat while putting groceries in trunk. I've seen some parents do this with toddlers around 2 or 3. Maybe this kid assumed that he would be allowed to drive, since he'd sat there before.

He should be punished, especially for cutting the power etc. off to the neighborhood. Everyone else was inconvenienced because of this naughty little boy.

Lillian I agree with you 100%. That is exactly why this "6" year old took that car is because he knew he could do it and nothing was going to be done about it. I can't say what I would have done if it was my 6 year old, although i dont have a six year old, because i did not spare the rod with any of my children and they would have thought not only twice, but several times before even thinking about picking up keys to any moving thing. so yes that is so true, he knew he could do it and so he did. tear that tail up and if it happens again, tear it up some more. grandparents house!! well where was the parents in all this. and what did they have to say about it once they found out about it

The most important question is "Why fricken' Applebees of all places!!??" Obviously, this family is prone to eating junk food. The kid has been trained to eat high calorie, high sodium foods. That's sad....

The boy was on Ellen and she not only interviewed him, but had a order of chicken strips brought out to him on stage. He looked like an ornery kid!
