Brookville Police

I just moved to Brookville and noticed that the Brookville Police always seem to have someone pulled over. Also, I have noticed that when I have friends visiting and they park on the street the police will run their plates. I don't know but it seems a little overzealous to me almost antagonistic. Maybe it's because I'm new to the area or is there some reason for this behavior? Seems a little alarming, feel bad for my friends when they come over because many of them have been pulled over in Brookville simply because they don't have montgomery county plates. My son was home from Bowling Green and he was pulled over driving into the plat to our new home.

Clay township is way worse. As long as you don't cause trouble with b-ville cops they don't bother ya, but they will run plates all the time.

I have lived in brookville for for awhile. The town is pretty nice and the people are too. Though there are some good cops in brookville and not so good cops. While I dont like to critize our police department, well there some who just arent good cops. All in all if you stay out of trouble you wont get arrested.

The Brookville police department targets people who are not from the area. I was told that straight from the horses mouth. "It keeps out the riff-raff", is what I was told. That was after I questioned why my friends were being pulled over for things like stopping over the white line at a stop sign, or having a small crack in the windshield (which was being replaced the next day)still got a ticket. They target youth who have nothing better to do than walk the streets because we don't have youth programs other than sports.(not everyone plays sports)The Brookville PD is getting out of hand. My next step is to contact the Mont. Co. Sherriff's Dept. Something has to be done. There are better things to do with their time than target innocent people. Go after the drug trafficers, the criminals. I have a son in the Junior High in Brookville and he has seen cocaine in the school. Where is a teen getting that kind of thing? WHERE IS BROOKVILLE PD? Out pulling people over for being from out of town.

I lived in brookville for years, it is the most racist narrow minded town i have ever lived. Why should its police be any different.

I moved from Brookville for the same reason as Former Resident. If your family hasn't lived in Brookville since it was first settled, then you are an outsider, and must be run out.

Brookville police have a paranoid mind set. They are close to areas they are afraid of, like Trotwood. The fear, in their mind allows them to harass folks. Its anti-American to act in such a way. I have had friends and family pulled over for no reason. The make excuses as to why they harass people. The facts are they are acting in a anti- American fashion. These are the same people that have the nerve to fly our flag yet fail to understand the rights of All people. IMHO they are as dangeous as the people they claim to protect us from. Brookville police, purhaps you should spend some time reading the bill of rights and less time hiding behind your badge. As a husband and father that has never been arrested in my entire life, and respects the law of our land I DO NOT respect the law in Brookville.

So since you appear to be educated and ignorant please be aware of how the court system works. A cop is to protect and serve but they don't have the right to tell you that you are guilty. The courts (ie county attorney, prosecutor, and judge: sometimes jury; make the call based on evidence and facts) decide your fate. If you are a law abiding citizen then there is no worry for yourself. If you feel you need to complain do it to the proper folks and not topix. And yes you just got served.

I can tell comprehension is not your strong suit, I never once mentioned the court system. You are debating yourself. As a person who has police officers in the family (two brother-in-laws) I realize that there are many terrific law inforcment officers who serve the public. The mentality of the brookville police force, guided by those in charge of said force, are straddling the law and the basic rights guaranteed by the constitution of this great nation. I'm sure the force thinks they are acting for the benefit of its citizens when in fact they are known to act way over the line. The government (police) without legal or just cause to stop, integrate, or search is unlawful. When the poilce themselve act unlawful it is a slap in the face to our way of life, freedom and the Amercian way. Having a force that makes things up in order to get around the law of the land (ie the ole famous lane change)is dangerous to us all. That includes us law abiding citizens. One should not be harassed because of their age, race, time of day or because their license plates indicated they are from another area. Is Brookville Ohio not part of this great Country? Is this police force exempt from the law of the land?
