Good point Pebbs. That teen was autistic and a gun should have never been in the house because he had anger issues but the mother was not afraid of him.If you are referring to the boy who shot all the children.it is getting pretty bad when we need bullet proof glass in our grade schools.Parents of these deranged kids should speak up ahead of time and let authorities know the mind set of their child. Just like parents who KNOW their kid is on drugs, for God's sake stop covering up for them, turn their butts in to the authorities and save their life plus problably alot of other lives. where did tough love go? brothers and sisters of drug abusers know what they are doing and they need to rat on them as well, they need help!

A gun cannot kill anyone unless a murderer pulls the triger no matter who the gun belongs too!! Now think about it!!!!

Accidents happen with children finding and playing with them. Think about that.

Webster, NY, firefighter shooting:

Maybe if the firefighters were armed for every fire, or had armed security guards with them, or fire trucks had gun turrets...

Comment, LaPierre???

Need better mental health services and tighter gun laws. The first people I would make an appointment for a mental health assessment would be the NRA leaders. I am not saying take away the right to bear arms but people can get them at estate sales, gun shows, parents, and theft. some never report or register properly. Why does NRA constantly look the other way?

You need to get educated about the NRA. At least they have some commonsense. The gun cannot kill you by itself, it takes a nut behind the gun to pull the triger. A car does not kill you it takes nut behind the wheel. Why do we have people with guns protecting the pesident, his wife, and his CHILDREN?? Why can't we have someone in schools protecting our children in schools???? If it takes a good person with a gun, so be it..........

Waaaaay too black and white thinking... the good vs. the bad.'Good' guys with untreated mental health issues, and plenty of weapons, become the 'nuts' you speak of all the time. There but for the grace of God go we.

As to the second point... Guns in schools? WTF???!!! Be it an armed guard or teacher, where the hell do we stop??? Armed physicians at hospitals nervously watching the operating room door for an intruder while performing your angioplasty? My barber, his scissors inches from my eyes and poking me in the side with his .45, awaiting imminent societal breakdown while cutting my hair? An armed guard at EVERY place of public business, no matter how small, suspiciously watching US, the good people? How about door-to-door salesmen and the cable guy, are we comfortable with them having a loaded Glock on their hip when they visit our home? Would we even open the door and let them in amongst our family and children if we knew they were carrying?

It's tragically ironic; the NRA bitches about an armed police state, yet wishes to create just that.

Point is you can't band everything that kill people. cars, kill people, alcohol kills people, knives kill people, tornados, kill people, bombs kill people. So how do you band all these things ? If we start banning guns we only invite intruders and murderers into our homes and businesses. If you wanted to rob someone would you rather go into a home with no guns or one where you think someone is waiting on the other side of the door with a shotgun ? It's the oats we are sowing. Raising your children to be murders. Until you can change that, there will always be senseless killing. Then add the media to make heros out of them for doing it.
