Since his son Jason got elected to county council, M.P. acts like he can run the county!

Reading the local bric cage liner today I read that the commissiners are letting the public speak
at the end on the meetings with only 5 min. I think that is way to much time for M.P I would only alow him 1 min. the other time needs to go to the public who have real issues and not old business. The other 4 min. M.P. can rant to his little buddy John Estridge and john can put it into the Brookville (If you do not like are views the Heck with you) paper.

I agree that MP Allen is not the sharpest point on the porcupine. BUT. If this is offered as an excuse for the commissioners, try again. Just because one critic of hundreds is a goofball, doesn't mean the problem isn't real. Allen simply was chosen to speak on camera--which, I might point out, neither commissioner was willing to do. Allen has been mouthy for years, and always says not much with many words--doesn't mean we don't have bigger problems, esp. with Roberts' DUI now, and his Uncle Ed chiming in.

Uncle Leo What Mr. Roberts did was wrong WE all know that. The DUI has nothing to do with his elected position MP is nothing that a loud mouth, School bully whom if he does not get his way he gripes. No matter what Mr. Roberts does it will never be right in the eyes of your "LORD MP" the commissioners could bring all kind of jobs into are fair county and turn this old county around and no matter what the Goofball from Metamora will never give Mr. Roberts or Mr.V. any credit.
Heck he probley will some how turn it around to make it look like he was the one whom got it done.

Let the commissioners Mr. R., Mr. W, & Mr. V. DO THERE JOB AND QUIT BEING A JERK.

If the DUI was the only issue, I may agree with you. So, am I to understand you (Uncle Jessie)are ok with Roberts providing the "second" to the motion that he be named President, superceding the precedent set for years on that commission? No discussion, no nothing. Just "poof" VM and Roberts decide Wilson should be a lameduck commissioner, and they arrange it so he is. That's okay with you, is that correct? I have yet to see the commissioners bring any jobs to the county. Hell, we lost the only possible real money to that end when they couldn't agree on anything, and the grantors pulled the grant application that would have possibly built some jobs. What have the commissioners done so far, besides argue, except decide that we officially have 2 covered bridges in the county. Now right there you have some real progress. We are, right now, the laughing stock of the community because of the behaviors both in and out of the meeting room. People who want to make this about MP Allen, who has been the traditional blabber of all things moronic in this community. We're used to him and his mouth. The more you generate talk about him, the less focus is on the real issues with the commissioners. I'm not buying into that. MP Allen is no different than he ever was. The commissioners agenda certainly is.

Well Lets just go back to the old style of commissioners lets get Brock & Linkle back and every thing will be ok? I don't think so...
You talk about Mr. V. & Mr. R being so close. Do you remember what Brock & Linkle were like if Brock said jump Linkle asked how high.
You are right it seems like the county is not going any where but at least it is headed the right direction. Maybe the commissioners we have now may not be the right ones we need now but I do believe all 3 are doing what they can to improve this county. This county can not get any good jobs into this county until the roads are better. Not counting Batesville and St. Leon area there is no good highways in to brookville for large trucks 252 too many curves and hills.
52 both ways stink and around Whites is nothing more than the Highway to Heaven. 1 & 101 is not to bad but the closest interstate is 30-40 miles away. So just what can any commissioner do with the location of the county? All you can do is to try to move the county into the next century.

This community never ceases to amaze me. A forum to discuss M.P. Allen. How he ever got Channel 12 to come to the Commissioner's meeting and actually make it on TV is ludicrous. Between him and that Cope's guy, Franklin County must be the laughing stock of the Tri-State. Also, County Councilman, Jason Allen is not Melvin Paul Allen's son.

Like we didn't know that--I think it was sarcasm (Jason Allen's lineage). As long as we're handing out laughing stock awards, let's not forget the commissioners themselves. I'd say they're in the running for that honor. Also, check out what Uncle Ed's (Roberts) link is to the famous "land deal" controversy that cost us some economic development dollars. And now the "other two" --Franks and Schirmer--have so selflessly "offered" to find a way to split the money available...how touching. Oops did I say "selfless"? I meant self-serving.

Yeah it was selfless of Schirmer and Franks to agree to split the money. The county would have already had the money if these guys would have kept their noses out of it in the first place. Schirmer is now willing to take, what $18,000 an acre and he originally wanted $60,000 an acre. You can come in and complain after the fact. Then lower your price. Oh wait a minute maybe you can......

People seem to forget that Roberts & Vondermeullen beat out Linkel & Brack in the election because at the time they were the "bad" commissioners. Now people are crying about the decisions these commissioners make. Wilson just got back in because of the hyped up press by the local crappy newspaper, when he was in with Linkel & Brack he never said beans, he just did what they said.

Roberts and VM being "bad" has nothing to do with the other two being "bad". They're all bad. Brack, and especially Linkel need to be out. It's not like we had an audition before voting for the only other two to replace them. This ain't American Idol. In order to vote somebody out, you have to vote an unknown in. So your logic is all messed up. This has nothing whatsoever to do with Brack and Linkel. It's amusing to me how, when this commissioner discussion goes on, those few who back Opie and VM (mostly family from what I can tell)try to divert attention to something else. Usually, either Brack and Linkel (like THAT's relevant) or MP Allen (also irrelevant, and has been for years). Don't make points that aren't points--the criticism stands on it's own.

This whole thing started with "Mr. Allen you need to get a life." Somehow it strayed off the subject, one of which there's only so much you can say. Your logic (which I believe is equally messed up) is that all the below mentioned commissioners are/were bad commissioners. You always seem to have a lot to say about everything, why don't you run for commissioner?(And no, I'm not related to or even good friends with Roberts or VonderMeulen or Wilson or Brack or Linkel.)

I don't need a minute in anybody's spotlight. I don't think I need to want to run for commissioner to want the people I elected to do a good job. That's why we have elections--to be our voice without 5,000 people running for office. They wanted the job to speak for their constituents. They asked for it. They need to represent their voters, not themselves.
