I'm just glad to live in a community where people care enough about our country to celebrate it. Every time I see the fireworks I make a special effort to get close enough to enjoy them. It sure was cold last week, but they were still out there celebrating.

It didn't go on for very long, did it? Don't you have anything better to do than complain? Some people are just the worst - making mountains out of molehills. Move somewhere else if you hate freedom so much.

i am sorry i missed the show! i love it when my friends and i are able to get down there to catch a great, free show. it's always a good time. i've heard the family is really nice-would like to meet them someday.

sit back and relax. it's not worth your time to complain.

I think they are great. Missed them this time but I love when they shoot em off when the weather is nice. Especially the ones that BOOM though the valley. Keep it up!

I think those people gets money from the County commissioners as part of the settlement from the frivilous law suit Franklin County filed against them. What I heared was that the judge makes FC pay them every time they shoot fireworks

Why the celebration and where did the money come from?
Nobody going to give an honest answer?
I have an idea though but I plead the 5th.

I was on my way to a friends place in Palestine and I always take Big Cedar over that way, but I usually don't get a free fireworks show. I pulled over on the side of the road, and my girlfriend and I watched the free show. I won twice because I enjoy fireworks, and it turned her on.... win win for this guy. If I didn't have my girlfriend all worked up sitting next to me, I would have went up and thanked them for a great show. They did look very professional though, everybody down by the fireworks looked like fire fighters wearing fire coats and fire helmets. As far as the money coming from the commissioners office, I hope so. What kind of bozo would give somebody a hard time about shooting fireworks. If that really is true, I want a schedule of when I can come watch these free shows paid for by Franklin County. Whoever is doing the shows.... you are AWESOME. Do not let the "scrooge of fireworks" get in your way of having fun. And to the people who said it sounded like a plane crashed, you might want to check your front yard for a remote control plane or something because the fireworks I watched were under control 100%, even though there was something pretty loud and cool at the end but still would sound nothing like a plane crashing.

The county does not give any money for these fireworks. After a fire that the fire dept was unprepared for that was allegedly started by fireworks, the courts required that the owners ,who do not live in this county, are allowed 10-12 dates when they can set off the fireworks. They have to notify the APC, (usually done a year in advance) and the APC can say no but must allow 10-12 dates. There are requirements as to the time of day also. They are also required to notify the Cedar Grove Fire dept about what is stored there.

Other than the statement that the county doesn't pay for these fireworks, nothing else here is right. One thing I can tell you for sure - there will continue to be fireworks displayed regularly on Big Cedar and those that enjoy them should stop in and say hi. Check the Indiana Dept of Homeland Security site - APC has absolutely NO say in fireworks display.
