Well since you started this why don't you tell us what's on your mind instead of asking a question and not answering it yourself ?

If he has a contract with the county, yes. It's called "pay to play" politics. Chicago is famous for it.

Linkel picks up for the town of Brookville which wouldn't apply to this. Does his business do the county transfer station and recycle center as well?
you got to be kidding

Neighborhood councils can conduct meetings and made recommendations to the City Council as to ordinances which may be necessary. Cities, by their City Council, can pass ordinances which are effective only within city limits. Counties, by their Board of Supervisors, can pass ordinances which are effective in the unincorporated areas of the county.(Joe is wrong that county laws apply within the city limits.)

However, State law, enacted through the Legislature, is always paramount, and is applicable everywhere. Local government cannot legislate in any area completely occupied by the State, and when local government can act, no ordinances can be adopted which duplicate or conflict with State law.

Brookville IS in Franklin County but it is a different governmental entity. I do not think it would be a conflict of interest for him to do the trash pick up for the town of Brookville. Different elected officials making decisions for the town than the county.

So the big question is, does Linkel have a contract with Franklin County for his benefit? If so, it is a conflict of interest. He should resign his company from the county and permit the county to accept bids from other contractors. Just as they are doing to county employees from standpoint to replacing them and accepting resumes. I might add, that's as political as you can get,

You all forget that his position only pays 17,000 a year part time with benifits.

Look at cincy there county officals make 60,000 a year plus benifits.

I will support Linkel now because he will make or break the area that I live in with Improvements to are Roads and anything else that will Improve this area as a whole.

I ask you how could you live on 17,000 a year in this day and age?

HE IS A MAJOR BUSINESS OWNER ON THE EDGE OF FRANKLIN COUNTY!! with sufficient $ in FCNB I am inclined to believe.
His nephew works for the bank..
He did not need the job for the money.
Go by the big Ponderosa on Morris Rd. Riot. Can't miss it .
The name Linkel is on every building, truck, blow up Santa and Easter bunny!! Just look for the big gawdy "L" on the newest building if you think you passed it.
I have to admit the name is not on the big in ground swimming pool.

$17,000 a year of tax payer money while he enjoys many tax breaks?
Why,I ask, does he have an interest in his elected position or running for an elected position.?
Too many people could really use a salary of $17,000 a year right now.
Food for thought.

I dont think anybody is depending on a $17k a year job to live on unless they are a retiree who wants to supplement their income.

Most folks who are working regular jobs cant make room in their schedule to take on a politically awarded position.

As long as he isnt getting special consideration when contracts are awarded I dont see the problem.

Dam, I have an inground pool, and a nice house. Are you jealous of me to? You know jealousy, and envy will drive you to an early grave. As someone has said before, why don't all of you who know so much run for office?

Actually I volunteer my time to help others not for tax dollars to pay me even though we do very well financially. So your envy theory is funny.
