I pray they do something it's not safe for students these streets are not safe. We don't even have safe sidewalks or cross roads.

I lived in a huge city, yes, there were sidewalks, but I walked from the age of 6 2 1/2 miles each day, crossing a 6 lane highway with a crossing guard, I went home for lunch so again I crossed that same highway back and forth 5 days a week. Stop coddling the children of today, God forbid they should have to walk, the exercise is good for them and if they walk in pairs, their should be no problems. If concerned get a group of parents that can stand at certain points and watch the kids walk. Its not the end of the world.

There is an article listing all the sex offenders in the area, Spring Hill is loaded with them.

The Deltona Elementary school has over 50 in a 2 mile area. There have been 20 car crashes since April near that school.

When the county gets sued because a child is killed it will cost more than the 800K their saving on bus service.

BTW all the school adminstrators just got new smart phones, nice huh, but no buses for the kids.

There are no sidewalks here for the most part, horrific heat, and very reckless drivers.

Oh and in regards to crossing guards, they have hired a few new ones very quickly.

But they didn't get background checks, vision or hearing tests, etc.

They will put the buses back in service after a child is killed.
