Closing the memorial is petty and vindictive. It's bad enough it took almost 60 years before a memorial to these brave men was built and denying them access is disgusting. I visited the memorial with my dad last year. He came to DC on an Honor Flight and I met him in DC. It was one of the high points of my life. I even got to talk to former Senator and presidential candidate Bob Dole and his wife!

Leftists will always use confrontations from the popular majority to excuse PUNISHING them for any opposition to their totalitarianism. Obama will direct that the most visible and most necessary government functions immediately affecting the lives of citizenry be shut down. At every level of bureaucracy, we have witnessed this behavior from government officials (almost always Democrats in office for decades.) Any element of government function causing the greatest inconvenience and irritation will be the first avenue of attack used by the Obama regime, or the Jerry Brown regime, or the Stalin regime, or the Hitler regime. How dare the populace oppose what Obama and the Democrat Politburo know is best for them?

Another example of the Leftist Politburo mindset of Democrat callous manipulation is the rejection by Harry Reid of a bill specifically to fund the NIH and aiding young cancer patients. Instead of allowing consideration of this Republican compromise bill to make sure NIH wasn't affected, the Democrats try to make people believe it is not them affecting the most necessary services.

Still doubt the depravity of the Left in America? Listen to Obama's comments yesterday. His wise-ass attitude says he, likewise, doesn't care about children with cancer, but only the propaganda he continues. A real President would chastise Reid for his callous words.

wait for oblunders brownshirts to knock some 90 yr old honor flight heads when the next batch of vets try to repeat the last groups visit. they sent a group of workers to hurriedly erect new barricades today, funny how the workers fled as soon as news cameras showed up. childish, vindictive presidunce at the white hut we have. Falls right in line with closing schoolkid tours at the WH. no park service personnel need be present as 90yr olds in wheelchairs roll past 'their' monument.

This memorial shutdown shows how inept, stupid, ignorant, and senseless our government representatives are and how they will go out of their way to make average Americans pay if they don't get their way. The politicians (including Obama) directing their vindictiveness toward our precious WW2 veterans?!! DISGUSTING!!!

The US spends millions to import Africans (Somalians, Ethiopians, ad nauseum) to this country, gives them cash stipends, food (stamp) cards, healthcare, etc. and then spends money erecting barricades so our aging and dying veterans cannot visit their WW2 memorial that is open and free to view with no cost involved on any other typical day. Congress needs flogged and so does Obama and the other dipshit bureaucrats.

How is it vindictive? The government has been forced to close non-essential services. While the memorial is a beautiful creation that honors the greatest generation, it is hardly vindictive. There is no malice to the closure.

A few disgruntled Republicants seek to hold the nation hostage because they cannot accept the fact that they have a half black President.

They cannot come up with an alternative to our economic crisis other than to thwart a law that was passed by Congress and affirmed by the Supreme Court. Their selfishness is what caused this mess.
