Wow, are you all talking about the same place I went too? Food was good and I found it clean, friendly and a great place to see all the people you know. Now it was an old place and could of used some updating but that doesn't make it dirty. Foreigners owned the building. They also own the Days Inn and the Shell station. They kept raising the rent after they bought the place. When it made it to $5000 and that was just too much. Would you pay $5000 for a place that needed to be updated?

That place was NASTY 10 years ago I can just imagine what it was like before it closed. Smelled like dirty cigarette smoke and the staff had nasty smokers cough and odor, we never went back, the best thing to do would be to tear down the building and start all over.

I hope Scott & Melissa decide to open up some where else they were good ppl and the staff always made you feel welcome, the place was not dirty it was just an old building that needed to be updated and the new owners did not want to do it they did raise the rent knowing that it was unaffordable so why bash the workers it was the India owners that should be bashed on here tell them how you feel....
Scott & Melissa ya'll had a GREAT business hated seeing U leave.....

You say old food, yeah I'm sure they had old food. Come on, get real, like someone stated it (the building) needed to be updated with repairs & that is why Scott & Melissa decided to give it up because though the rent was going up the owner of the building did not want to invest in repairs. Scott & Melissa would have went with the rent increase but not without cooperation from owners. I don't blame them. Sounds like whoever is saying bad things about the service and food has no idea what it takes to run a successful business. The Kitchen is missed by my family and I have fond memories of seeing others we knew there ENJOYING a home cooked meal.

".. ENJOYING a home cooked meal." Really, Mr. Brilliant? If it was a home cooked meal, why'd you have to go OUT to get it? DUH!

I for one am GLAD, GLAD, GLAD the Kitchen is GONE. That place STUNK TO HIGH HEAVEN of stale and NASTY cigarette smoke, and there is NO DENYING of this either! If you even remotely try to deny it, you're just one of the ignorants of Bullitt County. My last trip in there had some goon sitting in the back flatulating and smoking cig after cig, all while sitting at a table nearest the 'buffet.' GROSS!! Staff did NOTHING.

For those that actualy MISS this pig sty of a place, why don't you all gather at one of your homes and puff away!?

I absolutely loved the Kitchen, and will miss it dearly. If you are a non-smoker, then go to Louisville to eat. The Kitchen not only had good food, but was one of the few places left that allowed smoking. I went at least once a week for the last several years. It was without a doubt the best restaurant in Shepherdsville. I would love for them to open another restaurant.
