It is fitting that they received life without parole now if the general prison population were to find out that they were cops it would even things out

I think your unfounded, unintelligent comment is pitifull and full of unwanted hate.
Your opinion is frivolous and uncalled for. You do not know these men!

If these men had evidence against there would be no need for a re-trial, however, you will soon see what the truth is once the re-trail begins! And I hope I can see you eat your own words!

What really blows my mind is that I have just finished reading Eppolito's book (co-authored with Bob Drury), "Mafia Cop". For 250 pages, he is insistent about how he has been this stellar cop for years and is nothing at all like his father, uncles, etc.- all made members of the Mob. Then, to read that he was involved in contract killings for the Mob for a span of four years, negates everything he set forth in his book.

you must be related to them, well i am a victim of their crimes and yes I was at the trial, they are as guilty as can be and if the evidence that the DA brought forth isn't good enough, then you are living in lala land, the last people that need to be defended are the greedy, sick murderers.

Yes I was at the trial and My Mouth never closed I could not believe what I was hearing I will never get over it as long as I live. I thought Lou Was a Wonderful man that wanted to write my movie of my life we worked for 3 years together on the movie. I will never ever get over that. I had to go bankrupt over the money I gave him so it has just killed me and a friend of mine that had got the lone also. I will never trust anyone again. My book is done now you can buy it at breakingmysilence.net

The prosecutors had many opportunities to follow Judge Weinstein's suggestion that they charge murder as a substantive offense rather than a racketeering act, and they never did. Then, they lost on an obvious technical ground, the statute of limitations for RICO offenses. One also wonders why these greedy family members didn't sue when the newspaper articles first came out in the 1990s alleging Caracappa and Eppolito's involvement, instead waiting to reap the strategic advantage of a conviction. Well, that didn't work. Besides which, how many people does Eddie Lino's family think he killed? Or don't they? In all, acquittal on RICO was the right result under the law.
