Housing project's are a perfect way to breed criminals, you wanna end the violence? elminate or censor, music that promotes and glorifies violence, including death metal and heavy metal, put the ignorant somewhere where they will eventually kill eachother off, they are lower life forms, like the neatherdals that went extinct and cro magnons that evolved, somewhere where they cannot hurt/kill people who are intelligent and have something to give to humanity and life, like that young man who was killed after completing college, i say we destroy the housing projects and build single family homes with backyards in there place
You'd have to work your ass off to find a metal song that promotes violence. I'll give you a couple of weeks to find one. In the meantime, I'll give myself the same amount of time to find a rap song that DOESN'T promote violence.

I've never been to the Pink House but I lived in some sketchy places in Houston after Hurricane Ike hit. The worst complex I lived in for a few months had a murder a month, and a beating (not a fight, a beating of a victim) almost every day. Drug deals non-stop out in the open. The occasional arson (two in the short time I lived there)... And that was up front. The farther back you went, the worse it got.
I was born in Oakland in 67. Back in my day the ghetto wasn't so violent. The poor people lived together and supported each other and neighbors called each other by name. It's the fucking rise of the rap star that is killing our youth and the powers-that-be know this which is why it is promoted by the media as glamorous. So they can keep you down.

When the East is in the house...oh my god!! Born and raised in ENY, I have to go with the Pink Houses as being the worst. I have family that lives in Albany projects, they dont even come close to the Pink Houses. They are protected by the fact that they live 2-3 blocks from the Jews and we all know that the NYPD is bought and paid for by the Jews so it is only so much they are going to let happen in Albany, where as living in ENY is like living in a cave!!
The NYPD is not paid for by the Jews. It is actually paid for by anyone who works and pays taxes. Do you know anyone who fits that description my racist friend? Drug dealers and imbeciles like you are exempt from paying their fair share of taxes.

You know what? I'm white and would never want to live near your racist a s s! Drugs are what destroy a community and not minorities! Typical stuck up a s s attitude that goes with your kind too! I was fortunate to grow up in a mixed neighborhood that was majority African-American and would never trade it for the world! I've lived in this world 40 years and never been to jail or committed crime or did drugs!

Your argument about black people has no merit.

Now why don't you go play in traffic!

When the Pink House opened in 1959 it was a great place , even though city took 15 or 20 square blocks of my old neighbor hood of private homes down to build the Pinks I made some life long friends there that I'm still very much in contact with today. I also met my wife there and that was nearly 50 years ago.(yes were still married).I go through my old neighbor and the Pinks when ever I'm in that area just to see what once was. Sorry to say that the Pinks tuned into a haven for drugs and violence. The buildings look like a cross between a prison and hospital for the criminally insane. My old neighbor didn't stand the test of time to well either , but my old house is still there. It was truly a great life growing up in that area as a child and teenager. still proud to say "Hey , I'm from E.N.Y. Brooklyn ,where you from?

This forum is about the Louis H. Pink Houses on Linden Blvd in East NY.
Is this the worst housing project in Brooklyn? possibly US?
Some incidents (I am sure I am missing a lot)
1)Foxy Brown getting beat up a couple of years ago
2)Former Thug in wheelchair getting shot in the head last week.
3)PA man thrown off the top of a building with his arms ducktaped behind them
4)homeless man set on fire in building
5)Young man returns home from completing college and then gets killed.
-I am missing a lot but the list goes on and on
If you have any opinions on housing projects that are worse in US or any stories about the Pink Houses please respond. Please provide specific detailed examples so all readers of this forum can contribute.

I grew up in Pink Houses and believe me no one was dying there. The times have changed and so have the occupants. Back in my time my folks were struggling. Dad past in 1965 and we ended up on public assistance. I didn't shoot anyone and wasn't shot either. People have to wake up and take responsibility for their actions.

Spoken like a NYCHA worker or retiree.

I could name dozens more, that 40 years ago were 100% better.

PS, I,have been a NYCHA for a long time till my retirement. I did a lot for all the projects in my various positions. I hope the people who live in NYCHA get the gist of what they need to do to help make their home better.

fYI, a project hasn't been built from the ground up since the 70's. NYCHA has however taken over tenements which are referred to as turn-key projects. Just saying.

I grew in 2678 Lindenm Blvd apt 8E. small world. Pink houses was my home and I turned out well like many many others.I feel living in the projects can help to build ones character. Its nothing wrong with pink houses. Its some people living there that's the problem but then there are people who are problems in the private houses on crescent and stanley ave too.
