Think its bad out there, stay away from the Washington DC area. I'm in Landover, Md & you would think satan lives out here bc this is hell. I'm tired of this shit, I'm moving down south to NC or Atlanta.

To my East New York/Brooklyn people, which project was the worst back in the days, Pink or Cypress Hills? What about Unity Plaza Projects(The Bamaz)on Alabama, Blake & Georgia Aves, Linden, and Boulevard Projects?

Why do they finance the construction of ghettos in America?
They didn't start out as ghetto. Most people have no respect for what they receive or free. Mr Pink had a vision of helping others get on their feet. It was a wonderful community at one time.

This forum is about the Louis H. Pink Houses on Linden Blvd in East NY.
Is this the worst housing project in Brooklyn? possibly US?
Some incidents (I am sure I am missing a lot)
1)Foxy Brown getting beat up a couple of years ago
2)Former Thug in wheelchair getting shot in the head last week.
3)PA man thrown off the top of a building with his arms ducktaped behind them
4)homeless man set on fire in building
5)Young man returns home from completing college and then gets killed.
-I am missing a lot but the list goes on and on
If you have any opinions on housing projects that are worse in US or any stories about the Pink Houses please respond. Please provide specific detailed examples so all readers of this forum can contribute.
I GREW IN LOUIS H PINK HOUSES AND LIVED IN BUILDING 21 FOR 30YEARS AND YES THE PROJECTS ARE FULL OF DRUG DEALERS AND GANG BANGERS BUT IN THE EARLY SIXTIES AND EARLY SEVENTIES IT WAS GREAT BUT WHEN A CERTAIN KINDS OF PEOPLE STARTED MOVING IN ALL THE GOOD PEOPLE STARTED MOVING OUT AND I CANT BLAME THEM.BUT THE TRUTH IS WHEN THE PINK HOUSES WERE MOSTLY WHITE IT WAS A LOT BETTER BECAUSE YOU COULD NOT EVEN WALK ON THE GRASS AND HANG OUT IN THE LOBBY.BUT NOW THAT IT IS FULL OF MINORITYS ITS TERRIBLE AND VERY DANGEROUS SORRY BUT THE TRUTH IS THE TRUTH.

I WILL AGREE TO SOME THINGS BEING SAID ABOUT THE PINK HOUSES BUT I WILL LET YOU KNOW I AM A RESIDENT THERE. AND YES THERE A RE IGNORANT PEOPLE THAT LIVE THERE THAT DON'T WORK AND KEEP THE PLACE LOOKING LIKE CRAP. BUT I AM WORKING MOTHER THAT MAKES OVER 37,000 A YEAR. THE ONLY REASON I APPLIED FOR HOUSING IS BECAUSE NEW YORK IN THE MOST EXPENSIVE PLAVE TO LIVE. A THREE BEDROOM APARTMENT GOES FOR ABOUT 1,600 A MONTH. WHO HAS THAT KIND OF MONEY. WHAT THEY NEED TO DO TO THIS PEOPLE THAT DON'T WANT TO WORK IS TO HAVE MORE STRICK RULES AND MAKE THEM CLEAN UP THERE OWN APARTMENT BUILDINGS AND GIVE THEM A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF TIME TO GET A JOB OR LOOSE THERE APARTMENTS.

I grew up there at the same time. Black,White,Hispanic,Asian... it didn't matter. We all got along and didn't judge race! We had the Community Center and we utilized it for Hobbies...I wouldn't trade my childhood growing up in the Pink Houses for anything in the world!

I grew up across the street from the williamsburg houses on scholes st. in the 50's and 60's.Many of my friends lived in those buildings and they had great green areas for playing football and basketball courts.Anyone know how life is there now,I know their still there I scanned the neighborhood on google and the area seems to have held up pretty well and I saw a lot of new buildings on scholes st.
I can't speak of the Williamsburg houses specifically, but the neighborhood has definitely seen a revival. The neighborhood is safe and a old of new restaurants and bars in the area.

There are some decent people that live there. Ones that want to get a education and a good job. Not everyone that grew up there does drugs, drink beer, or are violent. I grew up there myself and I never did drugs or committed a crime. I have a eduaction and found a good job. Do not put everyone in the same category.

Sad. Just sad. There are people trying to make it work in the pjs and yet even they are victims to spineless thugs.
