No agenda here, but let's take a look at how these stories are reported in the media... This crime was originally NOT considered to be racially motivated, and is only now under consideration as a hate crime. Contrast that with the story that appears in the next link in which a Jewish man's face and name is plastered across the screen, as police seek him for questioning for an attack that already has been deemed a hate crime, despite the fact that no statement has yet been obtained from the alleged perp. This is shameful on Newsday's part, as is the growing public stance that such attacks are hate crimes only when the victim is african-american. This perception does nothing but advance racial tensions.

Oh BOO HOO The Jews are upset because one of their own got jumped. What goes around comes around. The Jews hid two of their own behind some garbage called mesira when the cops tried to conduct an investigation. I hope the black community greets the crybaby Jews with the same crap when the cops come looking around for suspects: Silence. Yes, the Holocaust was a horrible thing. But this is 2008. Get over it already and stop acting like professional victims, screaming Antisemitism every chance you get. Jews need to stop acting like the law doesn't apply to them because of their religion.

Hate crime, or just 'crime'? I'm just shocked that Newsday is allowing comments on a page reporting a crime by one of the 'protected species'. I see that the article on the Jewish kid that allegedly attacked a black kid has a picture and has been labeled a hate crime. This really becomes quite a joke after a while.

To me, dog macing some kid on a bike, then having your boyfried hit him with a baton, is a hate crime. The jewish kid admitted he was robbed, right, so that makes it a monetary crime. Had the criminals NOT taken any property, but beat the kid anyway, then I'd see it as a hate crime. I love the fact that the Hasidics are using "Stop Snitching" techniques, while the cops beg for witnesses to speak up.

You want to read somethingthat is typical of young african males (or animals)pull up the car-jacking of a white couple who were attending the university of Tenneesse. Three students at an Annapolis school for troubled students, as well as a grandmother who is featured on cable television as one of Anne Arundel County's "most wanted," were charged after staff members reported that the children were "running amok" and refusing to go to class, police said. Employees at the Phoenix School, 291 Locust Ave., reported May 14 that a 9-year-old refused to go to class and was running through the halls. He then kicked and punched a teacher, and then kicked the principal, police said. Another 9-year-old also refused to go to class and was running through and around the school. He kicked a teacher's car four times, then tried to kick several staff members when he was taken to the office, police said. A 14-year-old refused to go to class and was running through the halls. All three were arrested and charged as juveniles, the first two with assault and disrupting school activities, the third with disrupting school activities. When the second child's grandmother came to the school to pick him up and sign the juvenile citation, officers discovered she was wanted on a bench warrant for violation of probation stemming from convictions for drug possession and driving on a suspended license. Lenora Stansbury, 41, also known as Lenora McClintock, is among the suspects featured on the current installment of Anne Arundel County's Most Wanted. She was arrested at the school.
