Schumer adds New York flavor to inauguration

The New York Democrat heads the congressional committee overseeing the inauguration - making him both the boss and host of the ceremony that as many as 800,000 people are expected to attend.

A Republican Congress would seek to remove funding for Israel from the foreign operations budget, a GOP leader said.

U.S. Rep. Eric Cantor, the Republican whip and the only Jewish Republican in the House of Representatives, told JTA that a GOP-led House would seek to defund nations that do not share U.S. interests, even if it meant rejecting the president's foreign operations budget.

Cantor, of Virginia, said he wants to protect funding for Israel should that situation arise.

Like I have written before. the tentacles of evil number thousands. And we have a two party system. FYI...its on both sides on this issue and so many others.

Among the reasons for that:

-The hole dug by Dubya was far deeper that had originally been supposed. Improving the situation has therefore taken a lot longer. Sitting presidents are often blamed for the sins of their predecessors.

-Racism in this country runs a lot deeper than some would like to think. Many would not be favorable toward Obama if he held the key to the Pearly Gates.

Yet, Obama was one of a very few presidents with such unfavorable first-term ratings to be re-elected. It was a challenge, but the good guys won!

Schumer always reminds me of NY mob boss. Carter, and Clinton were there, but no other former Presidents were invited. Clinton, and Carter were both invited to G W's big celebration, But he wasn't trying to destroy the Democrats. And he has class, which we can never accuse Obama of having.

Many Israelis seem to be moderate, reasonable people, with plenty to complain about. But their leader, Benjamin Netanyahu, is a right wing extremist. He represents an Israeli version of our own Tea Party. The only difference is that Netanyahu
has a brain, and thus can influence more people.

Until there are moderates representing both Israel and the Palestinians, the struggle will go on forever.

It is indeed a sickening sight to see b. h. obama speak following a mass shooting. As if he is qualified to be the one in charge of condolences and advising people on “what to do.”
I find it very difficult to go along with b. h. obama who is a man who allowed himself to associate and to be mentored for years by the communist-terrorist bill ayers. The facts show there is not a dime’s worth of difference between obama’s mentor bill ayers and loughner, lanza and holmes. In fact they are connected in several ways…
It was discovered that loughner attended a school where ayers had created, in collaboration with longtime communist mike kolinsky, the so-called "Small Schools Movement."
It is also coincidental how holmes wired his entire apartment with bombs that would explode on police investigators; ayers is suspected of being behind a bomb that killed a police officer and maimed another and was connected to a bomb that killed his girlfriend and two comrades. That bomb was intended for US Soldiers stationed at Fort Dix NJ.
It is also coincidental how ayers advocated killing parents and that adam lanza did exactly that when he shot his mother in the face 4 times while she slept.
Common sense should dictate that anyone who allowed himself to be mentored for years by bill ayers and who launched their political career from the home of bill ayers just like b. h. obama did should be the last one to be speaking on the behalf of anyone who lost their life to deranged individuals.
