Wow! You never know! We may have played together growing up! I now live in North Carolina. I used to live at 1042 Decautur St. Flr 1. Unfortunately that building has been torn down. I started kindergarden in 1960 along with my sister Adrienne who started the first grade.

I attended PS 113 from K-2 grades. I believe K would have been 53-54, but I can't remember my teacher's name. For 1st and 2nd I had Miss. Carr. Does anyone have pictures from Miss. Carr's classes of 9/54-56.

That was me. I was also in Mr. N's class in the 4th grade. Wow! That was many moons ago. Do you remember Mrs. Goldstein (or something like that)she was the principal at 113 for many years. And a wonderful speech teacher named Mrs. Carr.

Do you remember any of these names: Barbara Leone, Pauline Novarra, Paul Gessling, Salvatore Gendusa, Josephine Pascarella, the Martin brothers, Ronald and Richard, or Rosmary Rappolli. I'm spelling their names from memory, of course. How about Joseph Padilla? And there was this kid named Robert who played a pretty good trumpet. I forget his last name.

I used to remember many more names, but they have slipped down memory lane.

WOW! This is so damn cool! Paul Gessling and his brother (I think his name was Tom?)lived right downstairs from me across the street from the school, in the big apt bldg. They lived just above the candy store. I was on the 3rd floor, left. Paul was also in my boy scout troop 482.Joseph Padilla sounds familiar. There was a Robert who's last name starting with a W. Wilson maybe. I only remember because they called us Robert P and Robert W. And I recall a Sandra Stack. There was also a Dorothy Moody. The rest I can't recall. I found two old report cards in a box from my mother's things. One from 4th grade, Mr. Nussbaum, the other from 5th, the teacher was A. Sacher. I also have my autograph book, which I can't find at the moment. Will look for it tomorrow. Would be real crazy if you had wrote in it! Sure wish I had the yearbook! Did you go to Halsey 296?(We are in the future!...This is incredible!)

I attended this school P.S. 113, aka the William Butler Elementary School, located 4th Avenue and Butler Streets, Brooklyn, NY, for first and second grade which makes it circa 1953/1954. The school was a rough stop back then but I have fond memories of teachers and classmates. Yeah, I can remember that far back. Dementia hasn't set in just yet. The school was in rough neighborhood.

I remember my first grade teacher was Ms. Heller and second grade was Ms. Schwartz I am fairly certain of both. There was a Ms. Blossie too. Yeah I am looking for some class pics too.

Steve, thanks so much for your response. Ms. Schwartz sounds familiar, but I can't put a face to the name. I still can't remember my K teacher. I believe she had red hair and was very sweet. I remember my mother dropping me off in class and crying my eyes out after she left. This teacher came right over to comfort me. Sure wish I had class pictures to revive my memory.

Bob Prevost,
We most definitely were in the same classes at one point or another. And I did attend 296, better said, I first went to the old JHS 85 before they tore it down, then to 296 when they opened for business. After 296 I went to Automotive High School. However, I remained in the old neighborhood untill 1977 when I headed to California with my wife. As a matter of fact, Bob, after high school, I went back to 113 and worked as a Student Service Officer for several years. Have wonderful memories of the assemblies and the special events. But the neighborhood changed so rapidly. Alas it was another era and time.

I used to live on Decatur St. My kindergarden teachers name was either Ms Burgess or Ms Burger. She was African American. They used to have a bookmobile on the side of the school where I used to read books. Does anyone remember that? Does anyone have class pictures during that time period of Mrs Burgess? I would love to see a picture of myself or my cousins or the McAllister family.
