Regent Place in Flatbush, Brooklyn: A...

Did you move in? How do you find it? I looked at a place nearby today. Loved the apartment, but don't wish to live on another drug block after my former years in Williamsburg's Southside....

That block is the biggest piece of shit in the world. The only people who live there that enjoy it are crack heads. Everyone on regent is involved in selling drugs. People get arrested there all day long. Don't move there it's just a matter of time before you get robbed. If that's not enough to keep you away every apartment in Flatbush is roach infested.

Does anyone even live in Flatbush except for thugs and their baby mamma's? I get nervous enough just riding the subway through Flatbush.

It's perfectly safe, as long as you have several guns.

i live in 2016 regent place and to tell you the truth the nieghborhood is not good at all. Two weeks ago a girl was shot in the head. Theres alaways thugs hanging out in the street smoking weed and selling drugs. This nieghborhood is filled with drugs. There is also lots of shootings especially on east 21 between beverly and regent. Not really the best area to move in.

i currently live at 2025 regent.

and like anything in new york. you get what you pay for. it's cheaper... and the apartment size is nice.

the immediate neighborhood leaves something do be desired. but the surrounding area is decent. flatbush is close by. decent grocery store. shopping etc. ok distance to the subway.(does have shitty proximity to laundromat)

there are some issues with people on the street. late nights. loud kids. and you'll hear gunshots prob once a month. it's a black neighborhood and has black neighborhood problems. think your racist thoughts, and they'll generally be proved correct by the behavior of people on the street.

but i've personally never had any trouble. and lets be honest. if you're white and moving out this way. it's for decent space at cheaper prices. you're not going to be hanging out on the streets.

if you're planning on moving there. my only advice would be to really inspect your apartment. whoever they hire to renovate the open apts doesn't know shit about construction. check water pressure. toilet, bathroom/kitchen sink.. pressure/drainage. check the windows... etc

You guys need to grow up with your racist stories. If you dont bother anyone, then no one will bother you. I am a nurse and I lived on Ocean and Regent until last year (living in that apt since age 19 currently I am 26), I moved a few blocks down to Ocean and Bedford to a bigger place. Ocean avenue is a great block and the longer you live there the more comfortable you will feel as you get to see the familiar faces. So visit the area yourself and see how you like it. I am caucasion and west indian. I look more white than anything though. Yet people have not ever bothered me no matter how late I came home. So stop looking for these idiots to help you, check it out for yourself Im glad I did and not listen to bad sterotyes/racial/biased stories!

I would like to hear more about this area as well. I am a white male musician looking at 2025 with a roomate. The apartment was pretty amazing on the 4th floor. We both have cars and bikes. Still un-sure about the safety issue. We walked around at noon and liked the vibe/ were treated well in the local deli on church ave up ocean. We checked out the place again around 8pm and it was relatively quiet around regent. There were also 4 police offers around two times we were down there.

any other info?

I'm thinking of moving into an apartment in 2025 Regent Place, in Flatbush, Brooklyn. I'm a 20-something white female who works late twice a week and would be walking home by myself from the subway. I have no problem being the minority in a neighborhood--it has been the case for me in almost every neighborhood I've lived in since graduating college.
Last night I googled Regent Place and found that it was listed as one of the most dangerous places in Brooklyn on some forum. Is that true? Does anyone know anything about 2025 Regent specifically?
Please help!
Thank you!

My roommate is white. We have lived here for 3 years with no problems. Its more about the fear within yourself. Everyone is cool as long as you keep it moving and stay out of the drama. Thats what It comes down to surviving in these neighborhoods. Anywhere you live you should watch you back

right above lobby front entrance. huge 3 bed room apt. to bad an asian kid came to deliver chinese
food, he was robbed and they blew his brains out. my family had to see his grey matter splattered all over the wall just outside my apt. the lobby was a weed spot. this was yrs ago dont know how it is now. sry for the dramatics but, this was a true story and no one in their right mind would deliver food there after what happened.
PS: ur a white female dont even think about it. cause i would fear for ur life. back then anyways.
When did you live on regent because im looking for a friend of mine who use to live there, i lived there from 95-2000 her name is shameka mcneil everyone called her shy shy!
