Many manhattan clubs advertise "After Prom" festivities and as we found out last year, they were a "BOMB" and the kids lost alot of money. The seniors found that it smelled, was dirty and was occupied by the "undesireable regulars"....so they ended up walking the streets of Manhattan with nothing else to do. Finally after two hours the limo took them back to Long Island. I wrote to the club on behalf of our seniors to hopefully recoup some of their losses, but no one ever called back. We heard not to take the "after prom" cruises since they were also crowded and no one could move (students would just sit and sleep while floating around manhattan) Let this be a warning -USE YOUR MONEY TO DO SOMETHING ELSE!

While it is true that overbooking occurs, and it's good to have a back up plan, the idea of high school-students wandering around NYC at night simply because their plans were broken concerns me. I find this unacceptable and certainly avoidable. The school district's comments(technical and semantic excuses for their general lack of student oversight, sponsorship and community awareness) say alot about the general attitude toward the governing of schools. But caveat emptor without warning is a tough lesson to learn even before high school graduation. I hope that superintendent's words are ringing in everyone's ears on school budget election day.

This is junior prom, why has it become so ellaborate?? Wasn't the prom enough, what will they need to have at the senior prom. These prom's have gotten way out of hand. What a waste all that money.

So now the school is responsible for what happens outside of school. Not the parents but the school. Wow, I hope you are not raising kids, or in your case letting the having the school raise your kids.

Time for SOMEBODY (you know who you are, jerk) to cough up that $1800 for the kids' transportation.

Maybe I'm adding this up wrong, but the article said $6000 total for 120 kids - right? Thats $50 a kid total. Now the club refunds some of the money - so the kids are out less than $50 each? This doesn't seem like a big rip-off to me. Live and learn

A junior prom AFTER party!! How spoiled and stupid can you get? This is supposed to be a small, less formal prom. Why do NY parents have to go over the top always? There should not have been a trip to a NYC club for $6,000. Talk about missing the forest for the trees.

To be honest with you, I know my son will do what everyone else is going to do when it's his turn and there's probably nothing I can do about it but I think it's DISGUSTING that at their ages, us as parents allow them to go to Manhattan on "party" buses knowing full well that this stuff happens. I'm appalled that this Commack parent thought it was necessary to "air" the dirty laundry of our community. Makes us all really look pathetic as parents for our lack of control and the fact that we think this is acceptable. Better yet, take a look at some of the photos on Facebook. Really makes a parent proud - NOT.

its so sad, you're all just jealous of commack people and the fact that they're privellaged and have fun. they got scammed and were voicing their opinions, it is their right to get their money back. &&&& you're all hypocrites for saying that they shouldnt complain over loosing 50 dollars each yet they're spoiled brats? obvisly they're not spoiled if they want their money back. if your adults, its time to grow up =) get a life.. seriously.

Commack was the 3rd Long Island school to get scammed by this company. The goal was to get a refund and inform other students. Prom season is here and we didin't want this to continue. The comments were rude. The next time you get ripped off give Commack a call so we can laugh in your face.Be careful the next time you need a doctor lawyer or get a new boss it will be one of those spoiled Commack kids.
