Hello Brooklyn!

I taught here in P.S. 145K as a second grade teacher as well as a Music teacher, also heavily involved in the assembly programs. My public school teaching career began here in 1971 after student teaching at P.S. 243K. Mr. Kratzer and Mr. Paul Arden were principal and vice principal respectively. Earlier Margaret Connolly and Kathy Naughton (sisters) were in charge.

I owe this school a debt of gratitude for my interest in dabbling in several foreign languages including my fellowship from Madrid Spain. I now am learning Yiddish and would love to have a penpal in Yiddish.

Although my teaching career was abruptly interrupted due to the NYC financial crisis in 1975-1976ish, I returned to the public school system in 1977 to work and relocated to Manhattan where I taught in P.S. 158M with many diverse students including UN diplomats' kids needing and appreciating my sincere multi-lingual and performing arts skills.

Fond memories (queridas memorias)I keep with me from Andrew Jackson Elementary School.

I now enjoy my life in sunny Florida but don't think I just retired here. I continued teaching in Broward County FL as well as some years of substitute per diem instruction.

I wish the new crop of students "Buena Suerte"
and "Bienvenidos" to a great opportunity at P.S. 145K. Make it count!!

Hasta Luego

this was my first school and my memory is stuck on second grade- the teacher was a Ms Connolly and there was also a school aide name Ms Lutz and her daughter Terry was in my class. I am 55 years old - in a nutshell do I bother looking at my high school yearbook? No - but I look at my class picture in 2nd grade often enough LoL
Here is hoping your child has good memories of this school

i love this school so much, its so beautiful. i went to this school in the 90's but never finished all the years, due to the fact that i moved away to massachusetts. i just rememeber all my teachers including my favorite 4th grade teacher ms.Kim who also had my first name and taught me how to write in in cursive. i will definiatley raise my child near this school, and he or she will be attending.

THIs school has 2 be THE WORST school i have EVER experienced!! if you or your child is NOT mexican, it will be an uphill battle as far as communication. there are no buses for the children,. no afterschool programs, the give your child to anyone without question at the end of the day,. Be prepared for your childs teacher to loose their supplies and important documentation!! my son didnt come home with a zeroxed copy of what they called a calander for 4 months! absolutely the worsed school!
