Joshua, my brother, is high in Heaven with our mother.
One day I look forward to be doing the same. Thank you Sondra for your post.
They will all be missed more than they will ever know.
Just remember that they were doing what they loved up to the very end.

LOUIS LOBO IS MY EX-HUSBAND AND FATHER TO OUR 3 CHILDREN. JASON 15, JUSTON 11, AND JENNICA 9. HE LOVES AND ADORES HIS CHILDREN AS THEY DO HIM. WHEN LOUIS WENT TO OREGON HE TOLD US HE FOUND HIS TRUE CALLING WORKING WITH ROBBIE ON AN CRAB BOAT. HE MAY HAVE BEEN NEW BUT HE IS A QUICK LEARNER AND SAID HOW THE CAPTIAN LOVES HIM. WE LIVE IN LAS VEGAS AND I AM ANGRY TO HEAR ABOUT THE RESCUE EFFORTS PUT FORTH FOR THE MT. HOOD CLIMBERS FOR 10 DAYS NOW AND THERE WASNT EVEN 26 HOURS SPENT LOOKING FOR 4 FISHERMEN AND A BOAT THAT DISSAPPEARED INTO THIN AIR.

They never should have been out there that day. The coast guard
had closed all the bays & river ways. The crew was taking a boat out
for the first time & in bad weather. I can only think that with the
strike over the price of crab finally coming to end that they needed
to get out there & bring in a big money catch.
I spent Thanksgiving dinner with Joshua & Louis - who spoke of
his children with a pride that you would have been moved by Andrea.
They spent the evening talking about how much they looked forward
to the crabbing season's begin. Yes he seemed very happy he had
found a place he felt welcomed at & appreciated in.
They made a horrible decision to go to sea that day. One that
we will regret for the rest of our lives. Let's hope it was quick &
painless for them. Try to be strong for your children & God Bless.

Has anybody heard anything new about the boat? Well Josh was an awsome guy!!! Luis was one of my dads friends. My parents let him stay at their house, and they really liked him, they said that he was great and he had some really cute little dogs! Robbie was a family friend, he was always fun and joking about everything. And Mark the "glass man", he was always in a good mood, and a cool kat. Well, with all of that being said....I hope that everybody is doing better!

Merry Christmas!!! Well I hope that every body can have a very Merry Christmas. I just want everybody to know that I really miss the crew of the Ash, and it wont be the same without them. I guess that all I can do is pray for them and be glad that they are in heaven and looking down on all of us.

louis was one of our dearest friends, we both grew up with him and consider him a part of our family. it is so unfair that he was taken from his children and family. i only hope after the past three years of hardship he was going through he has finally found peace. our hearts go out to the familys of the other crew members, and to andrea, justin, jason, and jennica we are so sorry for your loss. i know he will always be with you. we love and will miss you louis.

I LIVE IN LAS VEGAS,WHERE LOUIS'S CHILDREN AND EX WIFE,ANDREA WHOS MY BEST FRIEND.ITS REALLY HARD TO UNDERSTAND EXACTLY HOW A VESSEL CAN GO DOWN AND PIECES FOUND BUT NO CREW . IM NOT FARMILAR WITH THE WATERS OUT THERE BUT ITS REALLY HARD TO GET CLOSURE HERE WITH SO MANY UNANSWERED QUESTIONS. ITS REALLY NOT FAIR THAT IN EVERY PAPER OUT THERE IT IS SAID CONDOLENCES TO ALL 4 FAMILIES AND LOUIS'S FAMILY IS HERE IN VEGAS AND NO-ONE HAS CONTACTED THEM EXCEPT FOR JEAN BENNETT WHICH IS THE CHILDRENS SO CALLED GRANDMOTHER WITH LITTLE INFORMATION ON THE TRAGEDY. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU MELISSA FOR INCLUDING HIS FAMILY IN YOUR POST AND ALSO I AM TRULY SORRY FOR ALL THE OTHER FAMILIES AND THERE FRIENDS AS WELL. IF ANYONE WHO MAKES A DIFFERENCE OUT THERE COULD PLEASE MAKE HIS CHILDREN KNOWN IT WOULD SURELY HELP THEM IN DEALING WITH THIS ALSO.

leave me your e-mail address & I'll try as much as I can to help. mine is
[email protected] if you would rather contact me there. I understand
how you feel - I needed to have a lot of questions answered too before
I could come to grips with all of this. I even had to go to Gold Beach after
the memorial service to see it with my own eyes. I wrote this on christmas day
for the crew of the Ash. Please feel free to copy it & share it - just make sure
Joshua's sister is credited.
It was a stormy day
in mid December
the saddest one
I can remember.
Because on that sad
and stormy day
four dear fishermen
were swept away.
You see, the season
had started off late
and these men no
longer could wait.
It was with pots and
bait all aboard
that they set sail
to meet our Lord.
Now they sit
by His side
helping to bring and
take each tide.
With pride and love
they gaze down
on their little port
who became a town.
And nightly as we look
toward the sky to pray
remember we will see
them all again one day.
But until such a time
finally comes to be
I'll be there for you like
you'll be there for me.

Andrea, I'm so sorry for your loss. The memorial service was beautiful. My brother Rob was a great man and loved to teach and give those an opportunity who were willing to learn and work. I met Luis when he drove to CA with Rob. He was very polite and a really nice guy. I'm glad I met him. I assure you that Rob knew what he was doing running the boat and they had been watching the bar for many hours. All the elements that could happen in that area just added up and happened. It was an accident that ended in a tradgedy. I just came home from Port Orfor last night and people are still walking the beaches, the coast guard helicopters are still out there. Rob's brother's boat stayed out in the ocean looking for days. They didn't give up. All of our hearts are full of sorrow. We talked to Luis's sister at the memorial and she mentioned that there would be a memorial service for Luis in Las Vegas. Do you know when and where? Our thoughts and prayers are for all the families.

Melissa, You wrote a beautiful poem. Thank you for sharing. We all have questions and wonder what if-what if. It's all so hard to understand and all the families have such sorrow. These men were a team and knew what they were doing and would not have gone if it wasn't right. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the families. Jousha's daughter is beautiful.

Brandi I am not sure where you are getting your information but everything I have searched and read there is NOTHING that has confirmed that one of the 2 bodies found was LOUIS LOBO. The only one identified was that of Mark Wagner. If you have other information I would please like to know. In addition the proper spelling of his name is LOUIS LOBO. Thank you.

Hi, well my parents were told that one of the bodies found was Louis Lobo, and that the only way that they could identify him was by the scar on his shoulder, and my parents are right there in the circle of people who lost a family member and a friend. I wasnt aware that they had identified the other bodie let alone found another one.

If anyone would know then it would be Brandi's parents'. Her mother is who keept me informed the first few days. Has she gotten her phone fixed? She broke it during our conversation in which we realized the crew was really gone. She also lives next to & is friends with my daughter and my brother's best friend/captain. Do you think that the first body found on christmas & retrieved the next day was Loius'? I think the scar on the shoulder is kinda unique. I think Mark was found yesterday & identified by his tatooes. Do you think that if Louis' family is in Vegas that they can't be contacted & the identity released to the press? Please don't ask why they have to use bady markings, you don't want to know.

PS Andrea have you looked into the account set up for the families in Port Orford? I know the donations could never equal the amount his life was worth to his children. But I'm sure Louis would want you to have it. It could help ease the burden during your time of sorrow.
