I know the Father/grandfather of two of this moron's victims. One child lays in the hospital in critical condition and father and son are dead and the man who killed them is getting three meals a day, sitting in an air conditioned cell and has no clue how damn stupid he is.
I would like to sit on this jury.
Where are the idiots who let him go more than 3 times after DUIs??????????
God be with the families and injuried.

I know the family of the people in the trail blazer. I send my deepest condolences. That idiot needs to rot in jail and think of all the precious lives that were taken at his hand.

Although I don't know any of the victims, my heart goes out to their families.

The laws need to be changed immediately on DUI drivers. I believe this guy was driving on a revoked license. Something needs to be done.

Again, my deepest sympathy to both families.

TO KEEP THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN WE MUST DO SOMETHING. FIRST LETS FIND OUT THE NAMES OF THE JUDGE AND PROSECUTOR THAT DID NOT FOLLOW THE LAW, POST THE NAMES, HOLD THEM RESPONSIBLE, VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE. GO AFTER THE LEGISLATURE TO MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO HOLD JUDGES AND PROSECUTORS LIABLE FOR DAMAGE WHEN THEY DO NOT IMPOSE MIN. SENTIENCES, SUCH AS "THIRD TIME FIRST OFFENSE DUI"

It's all well and good to tell everyone to "hold them responsible", but you may want to post the names of said judge, prosecutor, etc..... Start a petition at

My husband and I were on our way home from a drive from Morgantown to Deep Creek area. We were stuck in the traffic from the accident, and couldn't get off the highway at our Morgantown exit.

To hear this person had 6 DUI's and was still driving is completely unacceptable! I have a dear friend who spent 4 long years in maximum security out in AZ after ONE "driving under the influence" which included "vehicular manslauder". The least they could do is charge this man with vehicular manslauter X5!

My heart goes out to the victims in this tragic accident. I was a friend and co-worker with the man driving the taurus. He was a great guy that worked hard and was willing to give the shirt off his back to help anybody. He had a great family taken from him because of a stupid moron who cant learn from mistakes. Evidently this man will never learn to he needs to pay severely for this terrible idiotic event. Friend you will surely be missed and all of us here at work are praying for you and your family. This doesnt seem real, I cant believe your gone buddy.

The law is not tough enough on DUI's. First
offense should be 1 year in prison. Second
should be 5 years and third should be 10 years
with another 10 years added for each fatality.
This should be mandatory and not up to a judge
or a slick lawyer. I personally know a person
who has 3 DUI's and while he is waiting for his
trial he is out driving around. We don't give
murderers their gun back and let them run around until their trial. CHANGE OUR LAWS.

I was heading home to Toronto with my family and approached the accident less than a minute after it happened. From what I saw when I went to the vehicles, it is amazing that anyone survived at all. I read the other posts and saw the idiot who caused the accident had six dui,s, I hope this guy gets to spend the rest of his life in jail.
Anyone know the condition of the child involved?

Wow..... you must be mighty thankful for that 60 seconds.

Haven't found out about the condition of anyone taken to Ruby, including the child. Surely the news people are all over it and will report something soon. Know some folks in Ruby, will try and find out.

"But the fact of the matter is that Stone had no business operating a vehicle on Sunday, July 8, 2007, or any other day. The criminal justice systems of two states had an obligation to make sure this man was not on the road and posing a danger to society."

The states of PA and WV should be held accountable for this man being on the road....!!! Somehow I doubt we'll get to the bottom of which state screwed up and allowed him to get a license.

It would be interesting to find out if he was actually holding down a job, or else how did he afford a brand new truck and insurance!

Thanks for your comments everyone my niece and nephew were involved in this accident(they were in the rear of the trailbalzer) and amazing as it is survived with multiple broken bones. This Guy should have never been on the road and it kills me knowing this could have been stopped by revoking his license numerous times.I hope this man (if you want to call him that) rots in jail.

The murderer was living with his parents. How about their role as accomplices? They must have known about his arrests, and yet he continued to drive. They were enablers--assisting in his quest to drive no matter what, and should be held accountable as well.

Courtney was like my brother. Our parents are very close so we grew up together. He would give the shirt off his back-to anyone. He was a very nice and genuine guy with a wonderful family. I can't imagine never seeing his big smile again-he had such big dimples, and his smile was infectious! He and his son were very loved and will be greatly missed. His son that survived is doing better. We're hopeful the he will get discharged from the hospital soon. The services aren't set yet. The family is waiting for Courtney's wife to recover. Please continue to send your thoughts and prayers to the family and friends affected by this terrible, senseless act. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family in the other vehicle...

If it's one thing I know...this guy messed with the wrong family. The are very strong and the only thing keeping me going is knowing that something positive will come of this.

I live in the Pasadena community just around the corner from the Evans Family. My sister and I just found out about this accident last night. I didn't know them, but my neice was friends with Sawyer Evans. He was very special to her because he protected her against a bully who was picking on her. They walked to the bus stop together every day. What a loss of a young man who showed so much integrity and loyalty at such a young age! At this time, my sister hasn't figured out how to tell my neice about Sawyer. I know my neice will be devastated. I agree with MDparkersburg's post that he just wants to knock that smirk off the murderer's face! Life in prison is too good for this skumbag! My thoughts and prayers are with both families. May God help them through this ordeal.

My 12 year old daughter attended Chesapeake Middle School with Sawyer. She considered him a very good friend and was devastated when she heard this tragic news today. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this tragedy. May God's Grace comfort and heal all.
