Full story: Santa Cruz Sentinel

A Mississippi judge jailed a lawyer for several hours for refusing to recite the Pledge of Allegiance, ordering the attorney to "purge himself" of contempt by standing and repeating the oath like the rest of the courtroom.

I am on the fence on this matter. On one hand, I agree with the idea that Americans should WANT to recite the pledge of allegiance with pride but when you look at America today, it is a sad, weak and pathetic country And nothing like it should be because liberals have destroyed it and what's worse, they are not done as of yet. Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, ect... They are the type of people who WANT civil unrest. They want in wars and want the American people dependant on social welfare programs. They want fuel at 9 dollars a gallon and import it from other countries instead of letting our country produce fuel and sustain ourselves. Obama is a dictator and a socialist and has no right to be in power as he is not a citizen of the United States. Everyone else is in denial and the people who believe in Obama
Are insane and inexcusably stupid!!! This man will continue to kill the USA little by little everyday!!!!
Actually, the pledge is the work of socialist progressives, there's nothing conservative about the socialist pledge.

Bush took your freedom and liberty away so it has nothing to do with parties. We all are different and one size does not fit all. The country needs to be split into smaller parts with people divided so they can support the kind of community they want.
you're so full of crap, you have poop running out your ears. The country is already divided into smaller parts, you dunce. Those smaller parts are called states. Ignorant kids these days, went to school to learn about nothing but liberal, socialist lies, like global warming, LOL.

You had me until you threw in wars. I want to suggest, that perhaps, you do not truly follow legislation. But then- I am ever thrown into discrimination in the "one or two liner" comments. Without educating you, may I perhaps point out that I am not a "liberal," nor am I an Obama supporter.(Surprise, surprise) But instead, I would like to point out that you should consider, and ADMIT that you are not educated in all things government. AND by doing so, you weaken the argument you display so readily. In layman's terms- When you don't know what you're talking about- it's better to say nothing at all?

Then why have one size rule? We should only need to band together for defense not offense. There is no good reason for 5 million federal workers.

Government has failed and put the nation in debt as well as polarized beliefs. We do not need a nation that is based on money.

17 Trillion in debt with nothing to back the fiat money except a military. That is dictatorship and tyranny not capitalism or a democracy. Capitalism requires something to trade.

17 trillion in debt... and other countries are 250 or so trillion in debt to us.

Feel smart now? It's all well and good to only give the information that supports your non-point until someone comes along and gives the rest of the information which blows your issue away in a puff of logic.

Besides, current Nash versus Smith economics require debt to work, and we live in a Nash economy. What you're complaining about is the reason why you have bread on the table for dinner and a vehicle to go get the bread in.

Without ownership of what you produce you are a slave bound to debt. Even slaves had masters feed them and take care of their needs.

Wage slaves that live on money that has no backing is not capitalism or freedom. When a judge can order a slave to preform like a monkey the country is no longer a democracy or holding to the ideals it was founded on. The same for a person that works for wages. What public schools do not teach is the real meaning of freedom as it does not come without being responsible for your own life and contributing to the community. It does not happen with a pledge.

At the risk of sounding insensitive, I'm not interested in the least in researching some conspiracy nutjob theory or new age hippie pseudoscience.
