Benson convicted in drunken driving deaths

Former physician Mark Benson entered no-contest pleas this afternoon to three charges of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and two counts of causing injury while driving intoxicated in return for other charges being dropped in the deaths of a pregnant Oconomowoc High School administrator and her 10-year-old daughter.

He took the plea deal to try and lessen his sentence and to avoid admitting guilt with his civil trials pending.

I would have rather seen him sit through trial and have a jury find him "guilty".

I hope the families prevail in the civil suits.

He is not a doctor. They took his license away years ago because of his lack of ethics and drug abuse.
