Communities around Chicago Ridge are stirring over the last few weeks over who the Mayoral candidates will be. In Oak Lawn the Mayor will run for re-election and has at least one opponent. In Blue Island the Mayor will not be returning and there are candidates coming out of the woodwork. These are interesting times. Will Mayor Siegel return? If he does decide to return will he have a challenger? Petitions can go out on September 25th. The Mayor's Fundraiser is coming up in October. Will the announcement about his re-election take place then? Will there be challengers announcing before then?

Gene is running. He is healthy and he likes being the Mayor. No one can beat him because of all of his good works. There will be no hand-off.The Big Bellies will have to wait and try to wrestle the gavel from Jack and Chuck.

Sorry. Crestwood has a big election coming up too and Davies and Lind's Township pal J. Toscas is running for Mayor. He is already complaining about Crestwood's transparency in the southtown. The Ridge and the Township are just like Crestwood. So will the township pals all be running at the same time?

Toscas can run in Crestwood because Mayor Stranczek is not. One thing those Worth Township Murphy-philes are good at is running unopposed. That won't happen in the Ridge if ELS decides to run. Hands down Gene will win against any challenger.

Lil Ol Wa Knu Pee! One of the good works is keeping you out of the mix. How does it feel to ALWAYS be on the outside looking in?!

Most folks that live in the Ridge ARE ALWAYS on the outside looking in. How does it feel in the fishbowl? Front page of the Chicago Sun Times is as transparent as it gets.

The Mayor is campaign mode. Right after winning his last election four years ago, he started planning for and campaigning for his re-election in 2013.

So all you challengers are making a big mistake waiting until the “traditional” election season to begin your campaigns. Big mistake. Cross him and you will find out. All your joking about him? You will be paying the price soon.

The Mayor has already started to get his name in the papers and into the minds of the voters, and he wants to roll over you again.

The Mayor has made a few mistakes the last few years by giving support to different trustees that have turned the Village coffers into their own private revenue sources. None of them have the Village interests at heart like he does. You ask "Change? Why?" Figure out why his board is trying to throw him out. Too many cooks.

Who is making the big move? Is he going to go like the mayor of Blue Island and run for reelection after he told his cellies that he was bolting?

Gene was a leader. He had all the qualities to be a small town Mayor. Chuck does not. He will refuse to take responsibility, to take blame, or take the initiative to lead anyone. He believes in punishment not empathy. Chuck believes that this "promotion" is a fitting end for his career. It surely is the start of very different times for Chicago Ridge.

Daily Horoscope for June 19

Leo

You need to vary your domestic routine slightly today to avoid feeling bored or restless, especially if the day threatens to be rather predictable. Think of ways to introduce a note of spontaneity into the proceedings, even if they're very minor, because they'll make you feel more lively and on the ball. If you're going shopping you'll be tempted by some impulse buys.
