ya know with super seven going up to new milford soon there won't be so much traffic on rt.7 the people who don't want anything built on the rich side of route sevn are still mad because candlewood lake is on the other side of 7.maybe this will keep those new yorkers off route seven and stop them from spending millions of dollars in costco and stews. wake up people since i moved here in 1971 brookfield has been 100 years behind the times.

You people that get flooding from the Still River are in for it now. Remember the Still River runs NORTH and now Costco is going to cause a slowing of the water running north during heavy rains! You Danburians should have been all over this one.

This is the true America - consumption at all costs. Spend if you want but I beleive in paying for my groceries not the privilage to visit a store.

Accuracy counts wrote: <quoted text> Obviously you don't know that Wetlands is not elected, either. Well, since you mention it, you're quite right. Thanks for clearing that up for the folks. The wetlands committee is a nice example of disenfranchisement, wouldn't you say? Because something that important is left up to an "appointment". They are "Selected, not "elected". We vote for Board of Finance members, Town Treasurer, BOE, Planning, Zoning....But not the Inland Wetlands Committee! Let me say that they SHOULD be elected just like Planning & Zoning.

The people on all town commissions are ignorant and uneducated in the planning and building process. They are friends of politicians and socialites who just want power.

I believe they have basic rules/procedures they must follow and if they don't they will subject themselves and the town to litagation. The issue of elected or appointed would not change that fact.

costco is fine where it is... no need to rebuild it, and cause more commotion. The location where it is supposed to go, is just going to cause more traffic in the area. Plus, the 133 extension is used to bypass Rt. 7. By placing Costco there, it defeats the purpose

Sad in Brookfield wrote: I agree as a member of one of the churches the last thing I want to look at is a monstrosity of a Costco building...We moved back here less than a year ago and we are sadly regretting the decision...This town or should I say its politicians have the wrong vision for progress... <quoted text> We moved here about 20 years ago and what a mistake. What a disaster this town and the schools have turned into. All the other towns around us are so much nicer with town centers, etc. This town is nothing but a big disappointment over the years. Time to move on.

Where was this nice town center that you loved when you moved here 20 years ago? Was it torn down? Brookfield never had a quaint commercial town center that these other towns had. If that was important to you, why did you move here in the first place?
