The Whitehead family has served the citizens of Union county for over fifty years and has never failed to step up and do the job. If something is not broken it doesn't need fixing. Jerry Whitehead, just like his father before him, is and has always been a fine example of what a Law Enforcement professional should be. I spoke with a family member of Mr. Jerry Whitehead (1 of 300 living in Union county)and he told me that Pritchett trucking pays off the sheriffs office so that their truckers do not incur any "problems" by law enforcement officers. Than I found out that the owner of Pritchett and sheriff whitehead are freaken related. Honestly from an outsider looking in it appears that Union county is run BY the whiteheads FOR the whiteheads. I say give Pinkston a try for a term see how things go and if you dont like it reelection is in 2 years.

It's time to change the status quo. To many good ole boys and thier kids never go to jail for any of the crimes they commit. There is a definate click in union county. And the drug problem in this little town is huge! A blind eye can only be turned for so long.

I have been a life long resisdent of Union County.
I had the most respect for Sheriff John. I don't have that same respect for Jerry.
If only the people of Union County knew what they got themselves in for, for another 4 years.
If only someone would look a little deeper into the Union County Sheriff's Office.
I read every article put into the paper by both Candidates. Ronny came to my house himself and spoke with me. I never saw Sheriff Whitehead out. As a matter of fact, I saw people out knocking on doors for him, but never saw him. Both had some very good points, however I think Sheriff Whitehead went a little far by saying that Mr. Pinkston had been "terminated" fom the Sheriff's Office (Sheriff Whitehead told me himself that he had left to go work for Alachua County right after Ronny left), and "removed" from the drug task force.
I checked into it, it's public record. He was not "removed" from the task force. He actually from what I understand did a WONDERFUL job!
I have talked to several people that worked with him on the Task Force and not one bad thing came up. I wish someone would have requested a recount for the night of the election, those numbers just do not add up.
I know of many, many people that voted for Ronny.
Oh well, the next one is only four years away!!!

We need a change in the Sheriffs Office. He has been in Office way to long. There needs to be a change next election and I know the perfect man for the job.
