Who was your favorite liberal/ socialist President in your lifetime?

Do you often find your self engaged in conversations that no one else is a party to?
#23954 Jan 16, 2014
...and you just stumbled upon the reason you or any other of your fantasy world Tea Baggers can't answer my simple question. Never a true Conservative president within your adult life. Now what does that say about the TRUE views of the people of this nation?
#23955 Jan 16, 2014
Pat is as long gone from politics as Newt Gingrich is. It still doesn't change the fact that they are Conservative heroes. Just like your Conservative hero, straight out of Moscow, Vlad Putin. Now go on. You keep on mumbling something about some commie fringe group liking Obama along with the majority of American voters. That's called the rights of being an American citizen. Now about your boy in Russia... Strange how Obama is currently standing up to commie Russia, while Conservatives are calling their leader a hero. Considering how confusing it has been, hearing you guys talk all the time about commies everywhere that no one else can see, it's all starting to make perfect sense now.
#23956 Jan 16, 2014
Oh and...if you have a second...who was your favorite Conservative president, within your lifetime?
Just can't seem to get any of you true patriots on here to answer me. Why is that? You silent majority! Sure you are. Keep telling yourself that. It will ease the pain of this nation putting your conniving ways out to pasture.
#23957 Jan 16, 2014
I deserve more of what you earn.
#23958 Jan 16, 2014
Yah...uh. About that word "Earn" you trust fund baby free loaders always like to toss around. Ooooh I know. Is this another one of those rightwinger games like when you call everyone a commie, while proclaiming that Putin is your hero?
#23959 Jan 16, 2014
Oh and...if you have a second...who was your favorite Conservative president, within your lifetime?
#23960 Jan 16, 2014
You may have a point there. But then the follow-up question is: WHY are we posting & responding to each other? What do you think about that?
#23961 Jan 16, 2014
Good question. There's room for argument of course, but I would say GHW Bush.
My opinion might have change IF he had had 2 terms.
It is accepted that his 1st campaign promise of "read my lips, NO new taxes" torpedoed his 2nd election & I accept that too.
In my mind that is a perfect example for line item veto by the president. Taxes were raised in a bill that had issues MORE important to him than raising taxes & those bills included higher taxes but it was an up or down vote on the entire bill.
The Dems successfully rode that fact of higher taxes in the next campaign.
Clinton was given the line item veto power for a short period until the SCOTUS properly ruled that unconstitutional. It is a little more complex than that but I put it simply.
#23962 Jan 16, 2014
I would say a there are a several reasons. Neither side wishes the other to freely pass around false propaganda without being questioned. Insults get answered with more insults, which ends up being a pissing contest as to who can get the better jab in. Finally, and for me personally, it makes me, my wife and my friends all laugh. This is just politics. The really important stuff in life has very little to do with any of this.
#23963 Jan 16, 2014
Sure, Bush the first lied about raising taxes, but they all lie so I won't go with the obvious. I find it difficult though, to call electing the ex-head of the CIA an example of wanting "smaller government".
#23964 Jan 16, 2014
above is your 1st factual post ever.
When you say it is just politics, you must not be paying the bill.
Ever had a 5 figure raise to net less than prior to it?
happens all the time, to lots of people.
maybe money is not important to you, and I notice your post did not include children.
Children change how you think and act because you are responsible for them.
I let my actions and my life define me.
you want propaganda....Obama has pizzed away this countries future......who is going to pay the debt?
me either....I am bolting as I already served. Let the trolls pay their own bills.
5 years from now I will only see snow on TV, and had best be better with my Spanish.

You can quibble about the exact percentage, but there's no arguing that there's a scientific consensus on climate change. I am going to give you a long list of scientific organizations that support the notion of man made climate change. On your side is a small group of individuals. No major scientific organization endorses your belief. I'll ask you the same question I asked Reality Speaks --- what makes you so certain that you are correct about this very technical question? Intuition?
AMERICAN SCIENTIFIC SOCIETIES
Statement on climate change from 18 scientific associations
"Observations throughout the world make it clear that climate change is occurring, and rigorous scientific research demonstrates that the greenhouse gases emitted by human activities are the primary driver." (2009)2
American Association for the Advancement of Science
"The scientific evidence is clear: global climate change caused by human activities is occurring now, and it is a growing threat to society." (2006)3
American Chemical Society
"Comprehensive scientific assessments of our current and potential future climates clearly indicate that climate change is real, largely attributable to emissions from human activities, and potentially a very serious problem." (2004)4
American Geophysical Union
"Human‐induced climate change requires urgent action. Humanity is the major influence on the global climate change observed over the past 50 years. Rapid societal responses can significantly lessen negative outcomes." (Adopted 2003, revised and reaffirmed 2007, 2012, 2013)5
American Medical Association
"Our AMA ... supports the findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Changes fourth assessment report and concurs with the scientific consensus that the Earth is undergoing adverse global climate change and that anthropogenic contributions are significant." (2013)6
American Meteorological Society
"It is clear from extensive scientific evidence that the dominant cause of the rapid change in climate of the past half century is human-induced increases in the amount of atmospheric greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide (CO2), chlorofluorocarbons, methane, and nitrous oxide." (2012)7
American Physical Society
"The evidence is incontrovertible: Global warming is occurring. If no mitigating actions are taken, significant disruptions in the Earths physical and ecological systems, social systems, security and human health are likely to occur. We must reduce emissions of greenhouse gases beginning now." (2007)8
The Geological Society of America
"The Geological Society of America (GSA) concurs with assessments by the National Academies of Science (2005), the National Research Council (2006), and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC, 2007) that global climate has warmed and that human activities (mainly greenhouse‐gas emissions) account for most of the warming since the middle 1900s." (2006; revised 2010)9

Pops, I thought this was a very good post. GHW Bush was a very smart politician and was well equipped to be President. I wish he would have gotten the nomination in 1980 rather than Reagan. He was the one that labelled Reagan's tax cuts as "voodoo economics" (and we now know that his assessment was correct!) But he got sucked into the Reagan bandwagon, and there was no turning back. He adopted many of Reagan's ideas as he own, and was in a difficult position when he needed to strike political deals in his own Presidency. It's unfortunate that what brought him down was that "no new taxes" pledge that Grover Norquist insisted on.
I wish his son had had half the intelligence and character that GHW did. We all be in a better place today.

And I'm more than willing to negate anything in the constitution I darn well please!
#23969 Jan 17, 2014
I can't tell if you are talking about the Obamaphone that Ronald Reagan started or Bush's patriot act that he signed by wiping his @ss with the Constitution. Either way, just like Timothy McVeigh, we can tell you are really big on the Constitution.
#23970 Jan 17, 2014
Interesting, since I have stated on numerous occasions to please point out ANYTHING I say as being non factual. Still waiting for someone to point out one thing I have posted that is a proven lie and I'm not sure if the guy we can all rattle off instantly numerous things you have claimed, that are completely batsh1t crazy wrong, is the best judge of who is being factual. Now I am sure you are aware that Bush's war wasn't free, but you have no problems with the "children" you so tactfully included in your sales pitch paying for that for the rest of their lives. Bush's medicare extension? Not paid for and obviously "socialist". Didn't even rock your boat for a second. Wonder white? Oops. I meant, wonder why? I lost about 10K a year when GW took office and many people lost tens of thousands in their 401Ks under GW. Not a peep from you. Wonder white? Ooops. Did it again. Strange that I mention the really important things in life, yet you claim that doesn't include children. I know. When you and 400 acres are going out of your way to show the "Liberals" how much you love to pollute, it's for the children's futures. Right? Now get on that plane...AGAIN...and flee the country, you patriot.

how about carrying 80lb blocks of steel as a non-union employee in Canton Ohio for 20 years for starters? That did not occur. It is a lie.
PS: Bush's war was voted on in Congress, and God Hillary & John Leach Kerry voted for it.
It could be said it was Hillary's and Kerry's war, because Bush did not vote.
I await your failed spin.

This guy talks like a BLACK LIBERATIONIST!" (See The "very" Reverend Jerimiah Wright)
He says show him where he is wrong:
"I can't tell if you are talking about the Obamaphone that Ronald Reagan started or Bush's patriot act that he signed by wiping his @ss with the Constitution. Either way, just like Timothy McVeigh, we can tell you are really big on the Constitution.
1. How could an "obamaphone" be started by a guy named REAGAN? Wouldn't the phone be called a "REAGANPHONE?
2. " Bush's patriot act that he signed by wiping his @ss with the Constitution." You might call it "BUSH'S PATRIOT ACT," but it was passed by the congress with one dissenting vote. 434-1 in the House, no dissenters in the SENATE. How could he use the CONSTITUTION TO WIPE? The CONSTITUTION is stored in a vault at the National Archives. Isn't a PEN used to sign legislation passed by the legislature?
2. "Either way, just like Timothy McVeigh, we can tell you are really big on the Constitution. " How could McVeigh be "big on the constitution," when his act was contrary to what the constitution stands for? Was your ally, Bill Ayers,s "big on the constitution"
