not saying is right. The news media only tells us what is given to them and much more information can come behind the story. Also remember folks this was an accident and unfortunate accident but still an accident. I hate that people place judgement on a person without knowing the complete story. It was not right for Tommy to be watching porn but would you be so critical if he had been watching CNN. Also to those who want him to have the maximum sentence. What if this were your son, brother, father, would you be so strong as to put them in jail for that time. Something to think about.

Why in the world do people think they are Drs. on 24 hour call?

We have some of the most disrespectful, careless drivers on the road today.

If I need to make a call, I pull off the road.

What driver in gods name has to be texting, dialing a number, and now we need to watch our computers or our televisions while we drive.

Do us a favor and drive your car with you in, off of a cliff. I want to live.

If he were watching CNN and jacking off, I'd say he gets a longer sentence. Why would a truck driver be whacking off to Larry King?

Truck drivers like this one makes all truck drivers seem like idiots.

It used to be truck drivers were some of the nicest people around and if you had problems on the road, they would try to help out any way they could.

I had a truck driver almost jacknifed once on the Penn. turnpike to help my husband and me out. He went out of his way to take my husband to the next exit which was about 10 miles away so my husband could get a tow truck and return.

Of course, this was before the internet and cell phones so maybe that was the reason drivers were nice to others.

Only 4 hours' sleep within 27 hours before the fatal accident. So fatigue was a factor, & he's feeling tired, so he plays porn video to keep himself alert, is what the news article is implying. Was he subject to termination if he didn't deliver the freight on time, as to why he decided to keep driving instead of stopping to sleep, as mandated by federal safety regulations ??

So, I'm assuming by your name that you're a trucker? Can you answer this question, then -- if he's threatened with termination if a delivery isn't on time and he has to break the law to get it there, what would happen if he DIDN'T break the law, got some rest, delivered his freight late, and they terminated him -- where does he go to complain? Who will back him for doing the right thing (putting law and safety over profit)? Why doesn't the terminating company get in trouble for making their drivers break the law?
