Don't know the name 'Lissux'......and I don't like the word homophobe. It is quite possible to believe that an act is unnatural, without being phobic.....that just pigeon holes people.

Then you are very ignorant of what a paedophile and a homosexual are. A paedophile is attracted to children....be they male or female....and seeks to have sexual relations with them.
A homosexual...male or female...is attracted to adult members of the same sex....and are not attracted to children.
I guess most paedophiles would like to be considered heterosexual....and the majority of them are...some married with families of their own. It is obvious that there will be a percentage of homosexuals who can be a paedophile, but this is not the norm.
I happen to be a heterosexual woman....and an educated one. I know the difference between heterosexual and homosexual.....and between those two and paedophilia! If you do not, then you cannot know very much at all.
All decent people would agree, that all religious people, male or female, who abuse children, should be prosecuted. They should not be treated differently. That is just plain common sense and decency.
A lot of your post made absolutely no sense. Perhaps it was the lack of capital letters, and the bad spelling....What on earth is ''no poo?''
If you are going to post, at least ensure that your posts can be understood.
I think that you explained the difference nicely. Can you explain why so many Catholics think that the majority of the abuse was by homosexuals. My opinion is that the vatican needed a scapegoat and since most heterosexuals would find it nauseating gross if the perpetrators were like themselves, heterosexuals, and since public opinion is very biased against homosexuals, it was a perfect combination. This way the vatican could campaign to clean out the homosexuals in the seminaries and parishes, since they advocate that it is an abomination and hope to assuage the heterosexuals. What do you think? An interesting afterthought however, is why is there such an extraordinary large number of homosexuals in the RCC clergy. Another one of those "mysteries".

Thank you. I only wrote what I think. I cannot disagree with the next part of your post....so I won't. Why are their so many homosexuals in the clergy? I don't know! I guess the same could be said for the paedophiles that are found there. I don't even know when someone begins to become a paedophile.....is the sleeping urge brought to life, when they meet one particular child, or have they been interested in sex with someone younger, all their life. I don't know! Just as I have never knowingly known anyone who took illegal drugs, I have also knever knowingly known anyone who was a paedophile. I know some gay people, and they are in monogamous relationships, and very nice people. Some have children.
There is much in this life, that is a mystery, and I don't ever claim to know the answers.
But thank you for your compliment. It makes a change from being told, by atheists, that I am delusional, or other such insults...or being told by a creationist Christian, that I will burn in hell. I love my fellow humans. I may not like all of them, and I may disagree with them, but I love them....so thanks!

I have wondered about how they first get that urge to abuse children also. I don't know if it may be an issue of confidence in their sexuality, or if it is because the opportunity is available and because the victims are vulnerable and can be easily made to submit and keep quiet, or if it is some latent urge that the majority never bring to surface, or if it is an underdevelopment of the sexual urge as relates to the brain or if it starts as an experimental thing, or what trhe heck it is. Perhaps it is a combination of all in differing degrees.

BTW, as you read the various threads, you will discover that I am pretty much as outcaste here. So you may want to not post with me or you will get ostracized by association. I am very much against the vatican hierarchy and make no bones about it. I do think that my thought processes though are pretty thorough and I do try to be open and fair. So, you are fair warned and any future posts will be at your own risk. Kidding aside, its refreshing to see comments from those who can have and communicate original thoughts.

I look forward to doing battle....*G* I've never liked any of the 'established churches,' so you're in good company there. You will probably see...as in the post above....I am not universally admired....but heh..who gives a f***!
As long as you don't use what I deem to be insults, I don't mind constructive criticism.....no one should!

Once again...nothing to disagree with in your post...so I won't just repeat in my words, what you have just typed.

Well, that was humour.....my humour.....good old UK humour. I could say the same of you....gotta crush..or are you stalking! I'm heterosexual...don't have crushes on females....however, I don't know about your sexuality.....and don't deem it important.

What are you on about?...I think you have taken a piece of my post, and either misunderstood it...or are quoting it out of context.

I think that I see where you are coming from now....but are you insinuating that all priests molest? I am sure that the majority of priests do no such thing. However those that do, should be prosecuted. The same goes for the leaders of scouting movements, and organisations like this, who have molested children.....in fact any one who molests. The tragedy is that a child is scarred for life, and a perdson in authority, someone who they should have been able to trust, abused that authority and trust. Where Roman Catholic Priests are concerned, I do not think that celibacy had necessarily anything to do with the priest becoming an abuser, but it certainly won't help that sort of person. Paedophiles are also found in religions where the priests marry. and in all walks of life. I don't think that having members of any group, makes the organisation ''evil,'' but it certainly does not give anyone any respect for the organisation, if they try to brush all the ''dirt,'' under the carpet.

ok,spur ,
no i don't think all priests.i'm from a catholic up bringing and i saw a lot of things going on so i don't appreciate it when kids get damaged by selfish adults especialy under the guise of god's servant.and i'll also agree with the fact that priests are the only ones doing this.now if people don't think this guy should be rejected
the church has its policies granted they change them at will but they have them
i have a brother that worked at a seminary as a cook,he loved it quiet atmosphere, they left him alone, and he loves to cook.
after about a year he met a girl they hit it off, girl moved in with him,off campus of course,
when the holy men found out he lived in sin he got fired because it just wasn't
'working out. so the point is don't think this is strange cuz i thought bro's treatment was harsh. the only things i remember from that time was the abuse priests and nuns were guilty of, if i said something to offend anyone 'i apologise, but after my experience,i don't put much faith of these people in lower managment
they do whatever looks best to the richest parishioners. if you think of priests as being democrats and republicansand, and the parishioners
as lobbyists it'll fall right into place

That is a really confused post! You are writing about so many different threads there,,,,and mixing them all up....and all without capital letters to tell one where a sentence starts. I think it has been established that it is WRONG for any person in authority over others to abuse the young and innocent. Whether that is a Roman Catholic Priest, a School Teacher, an Employer etc etc etc ...the list goes on! It is wrong, people get damaged...and the innocent victim suffers. Full stop/Period

perhaps, only perhaps, the biggest screamers about sexuality are those who themselves lack
sexuality or some form of human contact......
