I don't know why Brenda acts so uppity. If I remember correctly, there was scandal involved with her mother, Frankie Reasoner, and high school male students back when she taught high school music. Also, there were such wild parties involving Brenda's family 'back in the day' that there's a spot at Beaver's Bend called REASONER'S POINT. Some of you may know more about this than I do ...
Yea I know all about Reasoners Point back in the 70s it was one of the main party spots on the lake and miss Brenda wouldn't want her uppity folks know the things we know that had gon on there!!!

When is the next hearing? Others will never come forward if something more does not happen soon. It is too hurtful and the wheels of justice turn sooo slow. Out of curiosity , have any attorneys and anyone in the legal field made any public stand on this issue? When are the next local elections???

We need reports people.. What happened at the hearing? Surely this case has not just died on the vine! That would be disaster!! Is the gazette still covering the story, and are they staying neutral?

No offer of negotiated plea from the DA...full preliminary hearing set for Aug 9 and 10. Two days instead of the usual one due to large amount of evidence to be presented for so many charges. This was the shortest article the paper has run on this.

Trust me , Brads lawyers like the distance between hearings. It gives them more time to come up with some cockamamie reason why these charges appear to make his "innocent" client look guilty! No telling what will be heard at the next hearing! Distance my friends is what defense lawyers love. The rawness of the crime is not so fresh with time,(except to the ones hurt) and no amount of time deminishes that. People, keep talking , and LOUD so that the DA doesn't crumble to the pressure to take a plea. that is my worst fear, is that to save time and money some lazy lawyer will "fold" his hand and justice will not be served. God forbid! Defense attornys do NOT play fair, only one goal and that is to walk many many times, very guilty clients! They rarely even ask the client if he is guilty, they are there to plug holes in the prosecutions case and WIN. Count their money and sleep like babies! Couldn't do it ....

I had heard a little rumor that the DA was thinking of offering a plea deal of 5 life sentances to BP, but no such deal was offered... so rumor was all it was. I don't think you will see a plea bargin in this case.

I was told that da is not allowed to offer a plea bargain unless the victims agree but again I am not familar with how the system works from a judicial stand poiny. Someone in the field clarify if you know the ins and outs on this.

The DA is under no obligation to offer or refuse a plea bargain. Just as the DA is under no obligation to bring charges based on victim/family complaints. They represent "the people" not just the victims of criminal acts. That said, it would be unusual for a DA to offer or accept a plea without the victims agreement. A plea in these kind of cases would not be unusual as it allows punishment without the victim having to testify in court. For some victims that may provide comfort, for others - their healing comes from facing their abuser and testifying. Each person has their own motivations and coping methods.
