About time those growers grew a pair and stood up for themselves. What money they were rewarded is not near enough for what they go through growing chickens and what they were put through merry christmas chicken growers. you got a christmas present early

Nope, and TYson did not have to deliver bad feed to their chicken growers either. Bad feed, possible dead birds. If what I was told and the people who were the drivers who deliver feed are testifying about that bad feed and others testifying for the growers had truth on thier side. but Tyson will take it to a higher court to contest the verdict. So the out come is-who knows.

I was not aware that Tyson had delivered bad feed to the growers. Did Tyson know that the food was bad before it was delivered?

Thats what a person was suppose to have testified about, one of their feed truck drivers, besides thier other ethical problems-- this person said they read it in a paper. Could be wrong about the feed, but do not think so. Seems they have some of the problems of our elected officials, integrigy and ethics, which go togather.

Speaking of elected officials Sun Shine, I believe the people we elect to congress and the Presidency as well. start loosing their ethics once they arrive to serve the people. thier loosing of their integrity and religious beliefs is formed by the influence and acess to power they are given by the people who elect them to office, than than ethics or therefore lack of. It is a shame that it seems to happen to the best of them and their good intentions when they arrive to serve the people.

Looks like share cropping has come back in the form of chicken farmers, they raise a crop and end up owing thier soul to the company store. It is another form of share cropping is it not??

Sun Shine the info is online. 7.3 milllion awarded the growers. Looks like another form of share cropping, does it not??? Even share croppers of long ago who grew and worked the crows and lived on another owners place ended up earning next to nothing, but empty billfolds and rags on their bodies. And sometimes empty bellies. But in this case these were land owners who were apparently share cropping and lost their land in some cases. But when they come before a republican judge in the repeal of this case they will loose all or most.

I guess the republicans picked another republican to sacrifice and join the democrats in voting for the pasage of the unemployeement bill extension. It was making the GOP look to bad in the papers and the TV news, could not take the heat anymorem getting to hot for them.

I have not been keeping up with this so I cannot pass judgement. It does seem that Tyson provided jobs to a lot of people. The question that I asked was did Tyson know that the feed was bad before delivering the feed. What was supposed to be wrong with the feed?

I'm sure that is the way it is and a job that I could not handle but many people have chosen it as a way to make a living. I would think that it would be expected that some of the chickens would die under those conditions. I don't think that can be blamed on Tyson. I'm not saying to overlook any wrong doing by Tyson but don't try to place blame on them just because they are a big company. I'm sure that you have read about the massive problem with Pilgrim's. Their bankruptcy, sale and closing will hurt thousands of people and all but shut the town of Pittsburg down and hurt Mt. Pleasant. This can be traced back to our leaders passing a law that gasoline had to contain a certain percent ethenol. Food crops were halted and ethenol producing crops put in their place. Animal feed became very expensive and impacted chicken producers. We now see the results of that.

What happened to Pilgrims was only one thing, they leveragered their company and took on to much debt. They are stilll there, just under new management. Was that old Bo that tried to go big and over bought just like those folks that bought what they could not afford and became over extended. Fatemoves in strange ways. And did he not buy another meat processing or 2? Wonder if Bo stilll passes his checks out on the flooor of the TEXAS HOUSE??
