wITH SOME republicans talking of cutting or doing away with FOOD stamps I ask what is to become of the people recieving food stamps to help care for thier family. Some of those recieving food stamps are alo recieving unemployeement also. And another question it is part of a federal program that is used to support the farming industry. Also some mom and pop stores in rurla areas have many customers who use food stamps to buy products from those same stores, also Wal Mart is recieving many ffod stamp users in their stores. Wi;; this effect those rural and city mom and pop storees enough to put them out of busness. And how will it effect the people recieving food stamps accresss the nation. In truth it willl dramatically effect the economy as it takes money out of circulation through the food stamp program and also the lost of jobs. Now will the Republicans go that far as to partially or completely eliminate food stamps. that is the question to be answered after the Nov elections and we see who is elected to offfice in the Congress. the choice has as of yet to be made-- it is up to the voters on election day to decide. What will it be.

Hello Sun Rise, Now just how many people are on food stamps Sun rise? there are millions recieving the benefits of that program. Several million are in fact. Take Mccurtain County Oklahoma for instance. If the people in Mcurtain County on the food stamp program did not recieve benefits from that program there would be a whole lot of people going hungry would there not be? and if thsoe people are not spending cash money in the grocery stores there would be less groceries sold. that would put even more people out of work in the mom and pop stores in he rural areas out of business, plus there would be even less employes needed in stores such as Wal Mart as there would be less demand for thier labor. So more people would be out of work. The Food stamp program is a large part of our economy for the agruiculture industry and the grocery stores. Take it aay and you have more unemployeement and hungry people. But of course a republican has no interest in a person going hungry and that includes kids. The shut down of the food stamp program was the idea of republicans. Just ask a grocery store owner if they want to lose the food stamp spending customer?

Just in McCurtain Couty alone there are probably 20 o 25 percent of the people on the food stamp programp, or very close to it. thats a lot of people recieving benefits from that program. Think a grocery store owner wants to lose that money making machine, no. Those large chain grocers would descent=d on D.C. like vultures on a dead steer out in the pasture wanting the program back because of the l;ost business.

I agree. I have not seen any information that the food stamp program will be cut.

Check with you DHS and asl =k how many people are on the program in McCurtain county> You willl be suprised. Sunny, you just are not looking in the right places. TRY D.C. I just follow the threads I find and the many papers I read as a source, plus the goveremnt agencies.

I agree with what you are saying about the number on food stamps. I was questioning where you got the information the the food stamp program would be drastically cut.

Bartlett is not my representative. I don't live in McCurtain County. Why do I need to contact my representative? Just give me the source where you read or heard that the food stamp program would be drastically cut and I will look it up and read it. That way I will be reading the same information that you read.

Where did you get this information? Bills originate in the house. If they pass the house, the move to the Senate to be either rejected or voted on. If changes are made in the Senate and then passed, the bill goes back to the House. So based on what you are saying, the bill passed in the House, passed in the democratic majority Senate with changes and has now been sent back to the House for final vote. That means that a democratic majority in the Senate had to vote approval to this cut.

On the second read of your post, I am puzzled. You first say that the House wants to cut 16.5 billion from the food stamp program. I would assume that you are pointing this toward Republicans since there is a Republican majority in the house. Then you say that most in the House (more than 50%) is against the cuts but the bill is still being held up by those who want the cuts. How would that be possible? If most of the House (a majority) is against the bill, how can the rest (less than a majority) hold up the bill?

It would be helpful if you would give the number of the bill that contains a 16.5 billion cut in food stamps. Do you have a bill number or are you just trying to spread malicious rumors?

You are one mixed up dude. Give me an example of republicans denying American citizens the right to work. Exactly how are they doing that? What law give a republican the authority to deny a person the right to work?
AFFA wrote:

Why aren't these starving people working to earn enough to buy their own food? It is not my responsibility to work and earn enough to feed those who are too lazy to work.

Explain what you mean by the corrupt banking system raping and robbing the economy blind. How are they doing that?
