Curious to see if they euthanize the dog or blame the child for getting in its way. Thank God this baby survived.

I have the sweetest dog in the world that turns into a snarling, overprotective agressor when our grandson comes into the house. People, you cannot trust your animals around small children. This family has obviously learned that the hard way. I pray that little girl recovers with no physical or emotional scars.

I'm suprised DHS didn't step in and take the child away. I know accidents happen, but that seems to be how they handle things in situations like this.

You are so right. DHS has a pattern that is basically this: Harass good parents over something trivial and even take children out of homes where that is not propert; Turn around and let people who are poor parents keep thier children in sometimes horrible condtions.

I hope the dog is gone .... if not these parents are lucky the child is alive and stupid for keeping the dog.

I have owned pittbulls for over 30 years, and never has one attacked one of my children. When pittbulls are aggressive towards people there are signs you need to look for.

Media pukes (I'm talking YOU, Channel 6) only look for dog-bite stories with the words "Pitt Bull."

Dog bites happen every day. Ever try to pet a Dalmatian sitting in a car?

The relentless assault on this breed is disgusting. In earlier times in America, this was a much desired and respected family pet.

You need to "Google" dog bite statistics. Pit Bulls account for 48% of the serious attacks by dogs, and I am sure they don't comprise 48% of the dog population. This breed has proven to be very dangerous in the frequency and severity of the attacks. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that this is a dangerous animal. Those who choose to own one of these killers should have to take out an insurance policy of at least $500,000 to cover damages their "pet" might inflict. Judging from the people you see with Pit Bulls, this would effectively eliminate the breed. Your first problem would be finding an insurance company which would be stupid enough to write a policy of this nature, the second problem would be paying the premiums.

When you see a Pit Bull breathing, it is a danger signal.

Yes, other breeds do bite but they don't tear there victims apart and keep on attacking until they stop moving.

You need to read the story, and then research bites caused by all breeds of dogs when someone attempts to interfere with their feeding. The toddler came between the animal and it's food bowl, most casual pet owners are too stupid to break that possesive behavior regardless of breed. A toddler could lay down and eat out of the same bowl with my staffordshire and boxer. This is sensationalized because it was a pitbull just like many of the pitbull bite statistics are in error because the data was gathered from press clippings and many people misidentify the breeed of an agressive dog.

Wrong again. The vaunted Geman Sheperad has a higher bite strength, lower mental stability and higher agression score than APBT

Any dog is capable of doing this, not just a pitbull. I have friends that have pit bulls and never one time did it rip me or my kids off. It is all how you raise an animal, not just the breed Get a clue people
