Searching for "ABANDONED" places in Oklahoma.

Haunted, Spooky, Abandoned, Forgotten or just odd... I'd love to share info with others. Know of any such places? Please post them.

We don't have any truly abandoned places in Tulsa. If they look abandoned, the homeless move in and homestead the place.

Yes they do homestead a lot of these places. One that comes to mind is "Fairview Mansion" (downtown Tulsa). My friends and I were "touring" the place one evening (just as the sun was setting). We were just about to exit the front and out runs a homeless man. I don't know who was more scared, him or us. LOL.

Have you ever been to the old abandonded hopsital in Claremore? I am not sure you could get in it appears to be all boarded up. I can not for the life of me think of the street name but it is off HWY 20 around the old Git N Go. It backs up to a wrecker service and across the street is a car lot. It's roughly a block from Dee's Laundry and the old Git N Go.

I recently went to one about a month ago in Claremore but I'm not sure what street it was on. It sat on a street a few blocks away from the Belvedere Mansion. It's a pretty small hosp (compared to the ones here in Tulsa). Pretty simple building, 2 story with a basement. The inside was kind of cool, it has a ramp going up to the 2nd story. I can't imagine those poor nurses having to push the beds and wheelchairs up the ramp all the time. The nursery was a very tiny room, I guess because most women back then delivered at home so there wasn't much use for a large nursery. It was a pretty neat lil place. It is actually for sale. I'd love to see someone buy it and fix it up. If it wasn't so far out from Tulsa I would probably consider it. I'm always looking for something "old" like that to remodel. That would be a dream come true for me. I love "old" places with lots of history like that. Could this be the hospital you're speaking of?

I know I'm replying to an old post, but I am an urban explorer in Tulsa. There are abandoned places in Tulsa, you just gotta know where to look. If your interested in abandoned and forgotten places in Oklahoma, you should check out undergroundozarks.com . Check out the forum, there is an Oklahoma section.
