Baby's father charged with abuse

A Richmond man was charged with first-degree criminal abuse after his 1-year-old daughter allegedly was choked.

The investigation of Jeremiah Caleb Blair, 23, began in January when the baby's mother took her to St. Joseph Berea Hospital, Richmond police said. The child had bruises on her neck and had other head injuries.

The mother, whose name was not released, discovered the injuries after the girl spent the night with Blair, who does not have custody.

Blair was being held in Madison County jail on a $25,000 bond. He was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday. Read more

Hmmmmmmmm. I am wondering why it is not mentioned that the Mother of this child is now in Rockcastle County Jail with a $100,000 bond for Manufacturing Meth, and that before she was caught Manufacturing Meth, she gave up custody of both of her children to Caleb Blairs aunt. Kinda makes you think that maybe the Mother should be investigated a LOT more don't you think. This is one reason why 16 year old children shouldn't have kids.

the mother took her child to the emergency room to seek treatment for injuries. No matter what her illness,- drug addiction, chronically mentally ill, insufficient training and support- she did the right thing by helping her baby. Imagine if she was too scared or sick to help her own baby. What would be your opinion? She should have taken her no matter what. nuffsaid;.

i would like to add that the mother proved courage and love may not be enough to properly care for a child, but they just may save a child's life. She gave her children up- or did she bring her children to someone who could raise them. Why didn't the aunt take them to the ER/ People, please. understand that children need more than opinions from us and that mothers need more thna love and courage to raise thier children.

well the latest info is the mother, Megan Nicole Bradley 19, admitted that her baby burned her hand in the meth lab and was sick for months from being in a house where meth was manufactured. The other child cut her arm on a weedeater and Megan was drunk so she didn't take her to the hospital. She is still living with the man she got caught making meth with but social services are considering giving her the children back. Whenever the child was taken to the hospital for supposedly being choked, why did the mother wait until hours later to take her if she was so seriously injured when she first picked her up? The father has a good home for his children and all because of Megans lies the girls have never got to meet their baby brother! Now that you know all the facts, hopefully you see she's a horrible mother and doesn't need her kids.

Megan was a sweet child, however, due to bad choices and circumstances in her life, she is not in a position to care for those children at this time, for sure. She's still a child herself, mentally. This is what drugs do to the mind!! However, there's no doubt she loves her children. When drugs become a part of a person, their priorities get pretty screwed up, and without intervention, can seldom get back to where they need to be. What needs to be realized is that both Mom and Dad in this situation need to be prayed for, and that Gods will be done in their life, and that people can change, given the help they need. Instead of slamming her, sure, I agree she doesnt need the children now, however, in time and with Gods healing hand, someday, she can be to them what she needs to be, and so can their father, whom I do not know. May God Bless
