Thats great, I know a few other wannabe cops that need to receive that type of an award "post humoursily", they are awful bad as cops go and ONE isn't a real cop anyway! hahaha

I think his wife should have worn something black instead of white in the video, she really has a HUUUUUGE looking belly pouch on her!

I'm at the Airport. We never get in the line of fire, accidentally get shot, talk to our wife on the cell phone and get a big freakin' award. It stinks.

I always wanted to say, in my best fake sincere voice "This award is for for the whole department. I couldn't have done this by myself. I was just doing my job" to thundering applause. Life is unfair. He was in the right place at the right time.

Why do you get an award for being shot?

That's like giving someone an award for falling down a manhole.

Those guys will accept an award for anything. I got a bad paper cut a couple of weeks ago, nothing.

Watch, with the award under his belt, he will be on the promotion list.

How can you people be so uncaring, these proud officers throughout New York State, patrolling the backwoods... oh, the Sheriff's department, never mind. Move along.

He got his name in the paper and was seen on TV, then got a month off WITH pay, what did he need an award for? It was just part of his job!! Years ago he could have taken that award and put down a dollar and gotten a cup of coffee, now it will cost him the award and $5.. lol

No, he hung us out to dry, like everybody else. We gave him loyal, unquestioned obedience, and got nothing in return. Oh sure, I got a couple of stupid appreciation plaques, but none of the discounted airline tickets or lap dances. I do miss using his office to hide out in when he wasn't there, which was pretty much all the time. The new babe is giving me agita.

I barely recall this one as it didn't get much media attention, cause the shooter was a white guy from the burbs. I believe he got away with it, didn't he?
It's not like a situation were the shooter was a city black and the news covered it over and over, and 100 cops showed up in the court room.
Like white cops don't care if a fellow white cop was shot, as long as the shooter was white.

Same here. The guy was an officious know it all bully that barely graduated, and his lawyer Dad got him into the police academy, by not doubt calling in a ton of favors. Lasted about 3 years and got bounced from the force - we never found out why. He would have made Barney Fife proud. We could all picture him saying "Andy, Andy.."

When you think about it, the guys that barely made it through high school are cops. Seems to draw that kind of person.

Well he can't be the stupiiest, as the stupidiest only end up being able to get into the RPD.

But I really don't understand the whole "honoring a shot cop" thing. He was hiding behind his car, how is that being a hero?
It's like giving them a metal for being stupid.

No one can figure that out. Minor wound, major award. C'mon.
