Family files civil suit against former state trooper in fatal hit-and-run

NYS police is full of the grimiest dirtbags. I don't know how charges were dropped against these losers. I'd say with 99% certainty the reason they committed the hit and run as opposed to hanging around is because they were drunk. Am I way off base saying this? I don't think so. Guess it's easier to beat a manslaughter charge if the cops can't prove you were drunk to start. Of course though, we all know the NYSP would cover up for one of their own anyhow...
