Man found dead in Enfield was from N.Y.

Connecticut state police say a person found dead in Enfield this week was a 28-year-old New York state man who went missing in April after an accident on Interstate 91.

Yes, he was in th culvert since April, go on th internet and search "looking for Jody King".

I don't beleive that the CSP or Tiecondaroga, NY PD knew there was a second person in the vehicle until recently.

They found the victims cloths and wallet a hundred yards away from the crash since, it now appears to be a staged crime scene, it appears the body was moved from the scene.

King leaves behind his wife Carey and three small daughters.

wow, this story is very heart breaking and upsetting. i don't know much, only from what i've googled after seeing this and it sounds like the passenger in his car was involved in a bad way. also very freaky to know that his body was there since april and no one stumbled on it after all the people that were looking for him. wonder if their is a possibility this guy planted his body there? or maybe jody was alive after the crash/altercation and stumbled into the woods and this was his final resting place? so many speculations and no one will ever know the truth.

i wish his wife carey all the strength in the world. she is going to need it. i'm truly sorry for the king family.

I was saddened to hear a new york construction worker who worked locally lost his life in Enfeild Ct recenctly.
The really sad part is that same man kidnaped me, held me at knife point and took me by force on a death ride and attempted to kill me.
I pleaded with this kidnapper to please turn around, please stop the car, please let me out.Please let me call my wife.
All I got was crazed looks as we reclessly passed ct town after town.On a ride I am sure would have ended with me dead in some unmarked grave in upstate new york.I was afraid for my life.I know his plan was to kill me that night. I just never understood why.He was introduced as a friend and came to my home as a friend.All that changed when I got in his truck that night.
I now beleive he planned to kill me that night.I have a discrimination lawsuit pending against CIANBRO Corp.The company he worked for. He imeditaly pulled out a knife and brandished it so Its meaning would be clear.
It would have been real easy for him to poke me in my ribs with the knife he kept in his hand and bury me upstate state new york.
Dumb people get killed all the time, get left on the side of the high way.And how convenient it would be to Pete Boucher Jamie's team mate and the Man who called me Leroy and fired me for reporting his racsisit behavoir.
After escaping my attacker and calling Enfield police for assistance I was met with some of the most racist behavoir I have ever seen north of the mason dixion line. Low and behold they see that I am black and hear the the kidnapper is white they cancel the K-9 unit.
Then starts the if your black lets spend two hours trying to find something to arrest you for. Hey are you guys even gonna look for my attacker?
They find this guy dead and its my fault? Why did he run into the woods?(murder for hire plot gone wrong)What was he running from?(The police and a life sentence)Why was he running?
Because I got away.Its all very simple.Now I have been arrested and charged with crashing the truck to escape my attacker in Enfeild the same racsist dept that let a white guy wanted in a felony kidnapping and attempted assualt go?.Does this make sense. I am calling for the NAAcp and state police invesigate this murder for hire plot to get involved and the FBi to investigate Enfield Police
It all sound strange but this is the truth. I feel bad for his family but it would have been me found dead on a ct highway if I had not protcted my own life.
My wife had no idea where i was. We went out to get beer. I grabed the wheel because he let go and started assaulting me.The truck crashed because the driver was interested n subdueing his intended victum than paying attention to the road,.
Enfeild police department is 100% responsible along with his personal responsibility for the night. If the police had done their job that man would maybe be with his 3 kids today.
The reason I am coming forward is because I have been ripped to shreds in tthe media. Instead of reporting at the time of his death Jody King was wanted for Kidnapping and possible attempted murder they make him out to be some good person and devoted father.
The truth is he was a meth addicted criminal who attemted to kill me.I live in New Haven How did I get to Enfeild? I was kidnapped.
As for the crash. If someone has a knife in there hand and you see the Mass line coming up soon. That person take his hands off the wheel and starts to assualt you at 90 MPH what do you do? You get the hell out and call the police.

Well, I certainly dont know what happened between Mr. Crudup and Mr. King on the night in question so I am not going to make accusations. However, Mr. Crudup, if your DOB is 12/14/73, then you have a criminal record a mile long, with convictions for everything from sale of controlled substance, to 3rd degree assault, to criminal impersonation, to resisting arrest, to interfering with an officer, plus an assortment of other crimes. If you are that Joseph Crudup then the Enfield police had every reason in the world to be suspicious of you and to question your far-fetched sounding story. In addition, if you were as sympathetic a figure as you are claiming, I'm sure Al Sharpton or some other "champion of justice" would be proclaiming your innocence on every news network in the country. I dont know the first thing about why Mr. King was with you that night, the fact that he was with you in the first place does call this into question, but your credibility is pretty shaky to be making the kind of claims that you are, and then be upset that people are having trouble believing your story.

mr.crudup! i totally think you are being honest in your story.. we never thought that would of been the story but it all plays out. also sounds so true of the EPD in town to act like that. I would get the NAACP FBI whomever to help you along... being a citzen of the town i see that type of action by them regulary and its real unfortunate. Seems Mr. King had a drug problem got real paranoid when u got away and called the police and ran into a town he knew nothing about. very sad story for his family.. but justice and truth should be heard on your part! Unfortunately, Jody King is not here to tell his side of the story....therefore it is very easy for the criminal by the name of Joseph Crudup to say whatever the hell he wants....

According to the most recent article in the Hartford Courant (link below), they are asserting that Mr. King was probably smoking crack during the night of the accident and his behavior was very erratic. Still not so sure that we can trust Mr. Crudup's story completely based on his seedy background which includes an extensive criminal record, but if the toxicology report backs him up it appears Mr. King was not the "upstanding citizen" and "wonderful family man" he was portrayed to be earlier in this story. I certainly feel sympathy for his wife and daughters but this man had no business getting drunk and high and driving across the state inebriated, especially with a wife and young children depending on him and now they will pay the price for his lack of responsibility. At the same time, if it turns out that Mr. Crudup was involved in the sale of the narcotics to Mr. King that eventually led to his death, then Mr. Crudup should probably be brought up on charges that are more serious than reckless endangerment, like possibly manslaughter. Sadly it looks like no one was without blame in this story. If Mr. King was driving all the way from New Haven to Enfield after drinking and smoking crack he was putting everyone on the highway's life at risk that night and we are lucky that he didn't kill anyone other than himself that night. Hopefully others can learn from Mr. King's mistakes.

yikes.....things take such a funny turn. sounds like as much of a bad guy crudup is (only accusing you of this b/c of rap sheet on public records) might have lead him to the drugs but is telling the truth about king attacking him. i fear that king's wife and family didnt know of his habits and now have to find out the hard way that the man enjoyed smoking crack and got completely out of hand. like whitney said, crack is whack!!! and that's the truth
