If you have watched the news numerous people have had their identity stolen in this area. I would like to know if there is an investigator working on this. It has been going on for a long time but not to the degree that it has been since the first of Oct. Who do you think is doing this? It has to be coming from a large store or restaurant that lots of people frequent.

The first ten (of 16) digits on your debit card are the same as anyone else at your bank. When you hand over your debit card to a retailer they only have to memorize the last six digits. Also when paying credit your receipt usually shows your last four digits meaning the retailer only has to remember two digits(and the exp date). Any restaurants that take your card to the back to charge (red lobster/logsns/outback..etc), or hide themselves "via a blacked out window" while running your card (Such as Sakura on W State) should be paid in cash. Its a shame that something as convenient as a credit/debit card has to be avoided.I have been hit twice and the local police and banks are doing nothing to stop it. I believe I was able to track down the perp who bought my card number the previous time. However, the Wash Co PD felt it was not profitable to bring him from CA to SW/VA to prosecute.
By the way, all the companies that fraudulently charged my card (including a porn site) paid me back except for Apple I-Tunes who decided the $58 taken from my account may make a difference in their companies future. IPad owners..Your welcome.:)

My son has been hit twice and the WCPd investigator did not do a thing. He didn't know how to check any thing on the computer. He never did get all his money back. Seems like HUB has more fraud cases than any bank.

Actually, there were a total of six banks that had debit card information compromised. Not just HUB. There is a police investigation ongoing and all customers at HUB as well as other banks are being refunded the charges after they come in and file an affidavit

Same thing here. I bought a simple game for my granddaughter and they charged my card 21 times and won't refund it. Red tape. It was only $1.26 and they charged it 21 times in a single day. Wnt refund nor anything else and I don't have time to mess with it..

if any one was victim of id theft crime and want to never happens in future then sign up with any id theft protection organization. I know one organization "keep my id". Only this organization has cover all type of id theft like child id theft, medical id theft, financial and tax fraud protection in only same sign up.
