Funny how you assume all cops are sleaze. I am personal friends with a few, and they don't necessarily like alot of the laws or even other officers for their guns blazing self righteous ways. I have been on both sides of the law and Police officers are like any other group some bad apples but some angels.

Let's start at the beginning. The Sunday paper made it sound like the law enforcement in our surrounding area is at an all time low. If you do the math that comes to a total of 1%. I would be lying to say there are a few dirty people in law enforcement in the USA. When you are in need of help who do you call? These very well trained men & women come immediately to help you. They don't know you or anything about you or your family but they are there to Serve and Protect. My husband has been shot and stabbed but the love he has for helping others never slows him down.
The family of an officer is never has a consistant schedule, they are not home for holidays, birthdays, special events for their own children.Think long and hard before you trash the only people who are there 365 days a yr for the safety of others.
To those of you who show no respect, sadly enough you get the same treatment as those who respect, obey and understand the laws. Law enforcement officers do just that, they enforce the laws, they DO NOT WRITE THE LAWS!
To those of you who seem to be uneducated on this important part of life I highly recommend you start getting educated immediately. It's easy to trash them but statistics show people who do this have either had a run in with the police or a family member has.
I am extremely proud of my husband for putting others lives before his own.
Every time an officer leaves home it may be his last.

Another sensationalist article from the Bristol Herald Enquirer. Poor pay and "lick and a promise" background checks are what lead to these issues.

When you pay your Chief less than most patrolmen in this area make, and your patrolmen make minimum wage or just above, then you don't get the cream of the crop. You get the guys who are in the profession for the wrong reasons. If you do manage to get a good one, you don't keep him or her for long.

And finally, there are perverts, thieves, rapist, murderers, con artists, forgers, and all other kinds of criminals in every profession, including policing.

Just look at the last Editor of the paper Mike Owens works for. When you take the moral high-ground you should be careful. JTF went to Chattanooga, and got him some hoochy-coochy from one of his employees. Barely made it a year, and now he is getting divorced and is out of a job. One of the folks he brought with him when he came to Bristol is now a convicted sex-offender.

Sounds to me like we need to contact the "experts" on integrity in journalism and see if they think we have a problem in that arena too.

If Mike Owens doesn't get the information he feels he should have he makes up his own.
This fool came to my house to get info on a murder my husband was working and was a total jerk.He didn't understand the meaning of get off my property. People like Mike Owens make trials very difficult for both the jury and public. Some info has to be kept from the public. The person who commits a crime is the only person that has all of the info, and will slip up if the likes of "Mike Owens" keep their mouth zipped until the jury makes their decision.

Those are called typos "ignorant troll" and as for the treating me the way I project: I have never met people so confusing before I came to TN.
I am we'll mannered as long as you are, but backwards TNians mistake kindness for rudeness lol crazy crazy, then you confront then/ call them out on their rude uncalled for attitudes and they have no idea wgat you are talking about.
They talk to each other like this all day, so when a person with manners comes along, they have no idea what kind of manner the person has "because they never seen good manner" so they just assume the person is being a smart azz and their narrow closed mind doesn't stop to think about it then they just blurt out typical TN remarks and/or comments

Please are you kidding me? What movies are you watching? They have the same risk anyone else has leaving the house every day. It's not like they are kicking in doors in Chicago or New York. These are meter maids trolling parking lots and meeting woman. They became police officers because they were picked on in school or don't want to get a real job. Give me a break.

90% of the force is so fat and out of shape they couldn't run down a criminal if they could find one. You act like these people are there for the city but rest assured it is an EGO TRIP. If their schedule is so jacked up and makes for such a bad family life why did you bring kids into it? What a load of crap. I am not saying they are all dirty but they are sure hell not the Area's Finest.

And before you assume I or my family has been in trouble just because I don't agree with you your wrong. Clean record here along with my brothers and sister. Glamorize who you want but don't expect everyone to buy into that crap. Protect 365 DON"T NEED IT-I carry my protection with me in a 45. To bad your folks weren't using protection of a different kind.
