I am a 32 year old female. I have a professional career, a loving family, and I have been using bath salts for over a year. I've spent up to 200 dollars a week. Lied to my family to keep my addiction hidden. I've dumped this stuff in my body and I don't know what it will do to me long term. I started doing it because it was legal and available. Now I do it because of those, but I am also addicted. I pray that these salts get banned. I've never done any hard drugs, and I don't plan to. My life is slowly falling apart. I've even taken the drug with me to church, and snorted it in the bathroom because I didn't want to go a few hours without it. You would not know to look at me, because I hide it well. Trust me when I tell you first hand, this isn't a harmless novelty drug. It's highly addictive, and the potency can change with each vial. This stuff is thrown together by gangs, college dropouts, whoever. These places that sell them are making thousands of dollars a day. Personally, the only way I can get off of them is if they are not around. Please keep up the fight for those of us who are shackled by this addiction. There are many like me who just can't quit. I'm tired of the shame, the lies, the paranoia. I just want my life back.

Why aren't you flipping out and having mental fits and going to the hospital like the media has led everyone to believe happens to everyone who uses it? That's right... Moderation.

And you're probably not injecting it, which also helps some too..

I'm in no way trying to justify the use of this crap, but the media has taken this stuff and literally twisted it into the most unbelievable story ever told and its spread like wild fire.... I'm glad they have finally taken the bath salts off most shelves and hopefully none of the stores around here will ever make it available. But as far as the rest of their business goes and their other products, they are well within their rights.

Hello you stupid f*ck. Did you miss the part where she said it had ruined her life? God bless her for having the courage to recognize her problem, and I pray she gets the answers and help she needs and wants. She is 1 in 1000. As a health care provider, I see both the "moderation" side and the "psycho" side of the use of this drug.

The media always sells the most horrific story. But im telling you, first hand that I have seen and TREATED bath Salts psychos....intent on killing themselves and others. We refer to their psychotic rage/strength as Retard Strong....I know the name isn't politically correct, but the people jacked up on this get absolutely crazy strong and dangerous.

I have personally beat a man unconscious then had to take him to they hospital to be treated for his Bath Salts psychosis and injuries.

Don't excuse this poison by saying ignorant like "moderation". Death is inevitable. Short term or long term its going ti happen. Frankly I don't give 2 shits if they kill themselves. Im fearful for the general public....on the streets with them driving.....in the stores...in the schools....

Im ok with legalizing pot....I think those people are pathetically stupid, but really cause no real threat to society. Bath Salts is poison. Please find a better product to stand up for.

And to the original poster...good luck. Bless you for trying.

I hope your road to recovery is quick. I also hope your family and church members can help provide the strength and support you will need. Good thing about our past is it is just that-THE PAST. Profit from what you are calling your mistakes.
I look forward to hearing your progress along the way, please keep us posted.
By the way, there will be idiots chime in don't worry about that. There are plenty on here that don't mind to jump on them and keep them in check.
GOOD LUCK!!

Look, I understand everyone is trying to be supportive of you admitting your problem, and that's all well and good.. but.. honey, the bottom line is, if you really wanted help, you would get it. If you are truly addicted and want to quit this stuff, then get help now. Have yourself checked into a rehab facility if you have to, but do something. NOW. Because if you don't, even if this stuff gets taken off the shelves, you will still find a way to get it.. or maybe something worse.

You've opened that door to addiction and unless you slam it shut now, its gonna shut on you. I truly am not trying to be mean, Im just not going to sugar-coat it. You can't wait for it to be taken off the shelves, you have to go now and get the help you need to quit it since you cannot quit on your own. It will be tough, but its better than the alternative and if you truly want your life back, then take it back!

Good Luck.

What kind of career is the "professional career" that is discussed in the first posting?

As hard as it may be, you need to tell the people closest to you what your problem really is, because the longer the addiction remains, the more difficult it will be to begin the recovery process.

Don't you think that the people around you have sensed that something has not been right lately, especially in a church environment? I would imagine there are people who already know the truth, but have not said anything in order to not cause an argument or to avoid embarrassing you.

I understand where you are coming from. I have battled addiction in the past as well and I have found that you have to make a concious decision to quit and stick with it. First you need to take a look at your life and count your blessings. If you are depressed, then you need to see a psychiatrist...maybe they would put you on something to help you with everyday life. You have to stop the bath salts because it will kill you...and if it doesn't kill you, I guarantee you someone will get hurt either physically or emotionally. You should think about your family and the people that love you. Many people are not blessed with a loving family and a career. Like I said, count your blessings and make a choice to stop buying that crap. Get some backbone and be an adult. This comes from experience. Good luck.

First off there are more hidden issues with you other than bath salts. If you are who you are and are a good little girl that goes to church and has rode the bandwagon of conformity all yuor life then why the hell are you even taking bath salts. decide to go get a cool tshirt from the smoke shop and just happen to say wow lets buy some bath salts and go snort em. HORSESHIT!!! If your 32 and just so happen to decide to do bath salts because it was legal then what did you do before to get high? alcohol ? is that were it started? Im sure you can muster some wonderful bible camp stories too. I dont believe that a 32 yr old church goin woman that has everything in life that bath salts has taken away bullshit. You people talk about how it is so bad yutta yutta, if you thinks its bad then dont do it. addiction is not the substance its you. If you wish to get clean fine get some fuckin balls go through the withdrawls and get over it. Well its banned now thanks to you and the rest of the god damn idiots out there that cant mind thier own fuckin business and keep thier own kids in check. Instead they have to blame all there misgivings on the ones that had thier cake and ate it too. Now you will have crime rates go up and and major influx of the real shit and banning the stuff has done nothing but force us to take chances again. its not gonna stop and the winners are the drug cartels that were facing down proffitts by the synthetic drugs because now they can freely run there shit in that people are gonna buy. Winner #2 the crooked cops and politicians that run this fuckin state and country. Illegal shit starts runnin and ya bust em take everything they got and resale it auction it off so they can pad thier own pockets. yeah thats how it is so on behalf of all of us that had are cake and ate it too and was doing absoloutly fuckin nothing to nobody.... Fuck you!!!! Im so sick of people tryin to tell me what i can and cant do, and turn right around bid someone comming out of a grocery store with beer a good day. Fuck you bunch of god damn hippocrites!!!!

I agree with the above post. Just because it banned won't help. Look at all the illegal drugs people that people are or were addicted to. Temptation is always around the corner. Look at it in this aspect, your bath salt addiction is like Adam's apple, he did not have to choose to eat it but did . Such as the Devil is tempting you by keeping it in and around. You have to distance yourself from the product even if that means distancing yourself from some "friends " Because if they truelly are your friends they will respect you and your decision.

I find this to be an inspiring post. It shows that she is in fact facing her problem. Because as most recovered addicts will tell you admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery. I AM VERY PROUD OF YOU BRENDA G I WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK WITH THIS VERY DIFFICULT PROCESS!! GOD BLESS YOU AND BE STRONG REMEMBER YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN KI K THIS HABIT, BUT WITH SUPPORT FROM OTHERS. BUT YOU HAVE TO MAKE THE DECISION WITHIN THAT YOU ARE STRONGER THAN THIS "DRUG ". YOU ARE A VERY STRONG BRAVE WOMAN!

Don't you understand its that she doesnt want to get help, its hard because she doesnt want to close members of her family to know. You cant just drop everything and go to rehab. Trust me, I almost lost my fiance because I told her I had a problem and was going to rehab. Also telling people hurts them so much. You have to give it time and know the right time to tell people or check yourself in. Its not easy, everyone looks at you differently and you lost a level of trust that takes forever to get back. Im sure shes afraid of all this. If you were in her shoes would you tell everyone at once? I mean I'm "Just Sayin"
