Hi everyone,

I need some help finding a dentist or oral surgeon who can remove my wisdom teeth who either does sliding scale payments or a payment plan.

Medicaid will not pay for this because I am over 21 (I'm 27). I do not qualify for credit, and I am on a fixed income. I've been told that if I don't have them removed, I could get an infection and die from that.

Please help! Any advice you can give me will help. Thank you!

Yeah, I might have to end up doing that. I'm just checking to see if anyone has any names for me. You never know. If not, then I'll just have to do the phone book technique.

GO to your local church for help,I know they will be glad to help. You should go to the church first. Stay away from the government. The church believes Christ when he said [Love one another as I have love you] Christ said,[You have not because you ask not]

Talk to dental offices, explain the story. Ask them if there is an organization locally that you could get involved with that does free work. Don't ask if that dentist does free work, if they do , they'll tell you.

The RAM clinics may be your best bet, but you need advanced dental work and they probably can't do what you need done On site during the clinic, but they can make arrangements to help you.

Check out the RAM (remote area medical) clinic 2011 schedule, you can find out how to contact them here as well.

God is good, but preachers don't pull teeth.. Nor will the church give you 12 grand for oral surgery.

I know preacher don't pull teeth, but some preacher have a inter net work to help people in need. maybe you don't know about that,You must not be old enough to remember how things were done before the government took over our lives. My preacher is taking care of the sheep.Things are changing in the religous world. People are leaving organized religion and meeting in small groups at home.
Hope all have a good day.

No, I actually do know how things used to be done, but the key phrase there is "used to be", so unless you have access to a time machine, this guy has to work in the present.

If you do have access to a time machine, look me up on November 5th, 1955. I was hanging a clock above the toilet, the porcelain was wet, I slipped and fell and hit my head. When I awoke, I had a vision.. A picture in my head! I had an idea, an idea for the flux capacitor, it's what makes time travel possible.

Yes, the government has replaced the church in many areas and this is one of them. We can hem and haw for a generation about how it's a shame, but this dude's teeth will still hurt.

I don't know any thing about a time machine. and his teeth still hurts, that why he should get help from the church and not the government.Sorry to here you hit your head, hope you injury gets healed.

FYI: I'm a chick, not a dude.:)

I fought TennCare for it, like I've done so many times with other things (I hope to be a patient advocate when I graduate), and they agreed to pay for it. They do not normally do this for people over 21, but I'm a fighter with a strong, solid case for medical necessity.

It's being done on July 14th, so any prayers are welcome.

Thanks for all the support and replies. The help ended up coming from the government (I did check with the local churches first, though), but I made it happen.

ETSU have a dental school? If not you could go down to Knoxville and the dental school. They may do for free or at reduced rate..........

Whoever told you that you could die was probably exaggerating. I think the worst they can do is mess up your teeth alignment. That being said sough, they should still be taken out. I would do a Google search to find the best dentist near you. http://www.drfalcone.com/wisdomteeth.htm

No you can actually die if your teeth start rotting, bc they will get infected. once infection sets in if that is not taken care of there is a nerve that links to ur eye and can make u go blind permanently. Then if it is still not taken care of the infection will continue to spread and can cause brain damage. which in turn can and will in most cases of such a severe infection...kill you. My fiance just had to have teeth removed due to infection and I made sure to ask several questions along this topic bc I was not only concerned for his well being but rather amazed that it could do such a thing.

Glad you got Tenncare to help you. I am actually having to do the same thing.
