Let me address your list:
Some reasons why I hate Tennessee: people here can't drive *and they can anywhere else?* governor Bredesen sucks *well, yes* lack of health care *same thing in any other state* lack of employment *same thing in any other state, especially right now* high gas prices *not as high as other cities. Average was $2.53 today in Tennessee* rednecks *rednecks are everywhere, it's not just a Tennessee thing* rebel flags *again, rebel flags are everywhere, not just exclusive to Tennessee* RC Cola *Why the hell is this here?* it's a boring state *WHY?* it's overrated *WHY?* art museums shouldn't cost money *This is not exclusive to Tennessee* housing is over priced *Go buy a house up north* lack of culture *as with every where* schools don't meet expectations *as with every where* backward minded people *as with every where*
Reasons why I hate Nashville: bad drivers mayor Karl Dean sucks traffic too many cops over crowded highest gas prices in the state overrated lack of employment too many immigrants filthy city roads need to be fixed people are impatient and rude too much crime the school uniform car emissions the Titans tourists Need I say more??
That's some really hard evidence you have. Seriously, you are childish, backward and close minded. You need not bitch about anyone else behaving in that manner, when you clearly are the typecast for everything you hate about Tennessee.

Possibly Kentucky. Rebel flags aren't everywhere, only the south. And the image folks associate with it is exactly what we have been talking about. I dont get the housing thing. In some upscale areas its a bit up there. But yes, buying a house up north is more expensive, as is on the west coast. But look at the places. There's a reason its more expensive. Up north its supply and demand. The north's population density is far worse than down here. And as for out west, its just nicer, less stupidity, and better housing codes to be adhered to. No one can deny the amount of backward minded people around here. Sure there may be elsewhere too, but its BAD around here. One of the arguments I hear, especially from the older people is that TN is one of the cheapest places to live. Well Yeah, for a reason. To me that is FAR from a selling point. Call it trying to live above your raising if you want, I say you SHOULD want to live above your raising. No matter where you are from.

OK... Tenn housing isn't the most expensive, I will give you that... but it's still rather pricey. Of the five states where I've lived, houses here are higher in general. Especially in the Nashville area.

Maggie wrote: <quoted text> five states? could it be you're not satisfied anywhere? Actually, I found "home" in the last state where I was living. I loved it there and I miss it a lot. I came back to Tennessee, because of my mother. Hopefully, I'll be able to return back there soon.

That's good, home is not where you are born, but where you end up and find comfort.

I have to stay here for 2 more years and then I will be hauling ass so quick!! So far, it's taking 1.5 yrs. trying to get a divorce from a Grand Ole Opry members son and you can just hang that up too! It's so impossible but Tennessee boys never leave their mommies or their daddies!!!! So watch out girls or women!!!! I could go on and on but.... DO NOT MOVE TO TENNESSEE!!!!!!!!!! I live in Tennessee. I don't necessarily like it. In fact, most of the time I'm trying to get out. However, all people from this state aren't strung out morons. You can find those all over. Even with the music I hate and the accent I can't stand, I've found that people around here are kinder than most places. they will help you if you need it. They value simple things. And I'm not some dumb prick who couldn't get away from my mommy. I'm only fifteen. I'll be out of here when i see it fit. There's something to be said about those who can appreciate things that they don't understand. I don't understand why it is pleasing to listen to someone bang on a banjo or wear cowboy hats, but I can appreciate the fact they are people. Just like you and I.

The only problem with that Bristolian is that a lot of Tennesseans arent as open minded as you and I. There is a high level of intolerance around here. Which is my biggest problem with this area.

God. What a great thread. I loved the "natives" jumping in there and saying.....we'll if ya'al don't lahk it get out." No effing problem inbreds! I am working on it as we speak. You certainly don't need "mah kind" here. Educated and experienced in my field. Able to hold a job and contribute to the community. He11, that's just not the quality of people that ya'll are wantin here in good ole Tennessee. I suppose if ah wuz a drain on the state suckin up welfare and getting mah tenncare card ya'll might lahk me bettuh. The people I have met & had the displeasure of working & living beside are vile, vicious, stupid, inbred, duplicitous, conniving morons. I am thankful for the experience because when I finally ditch this place I will know to stay away from any a$$hole who hails from the great state of Tennessee. This is not a blanket condemnation of the entire population of this state. I've met a few good folks here. Just been very few and the a$$holes behavior far outweighs the good stuff that goes on here. I truly will be relieved when I am able to return to what I considered home. This place is truly a stinking cesspool!

I have lived in East TN for about 2 years now. After seeing what I have seen, I am trying to get out. I hate it here, with a passion. One of my main gripes is that people here simply CANNOT drive. Personally I love to drive. I love driving because it is fun, I am a fan of different types of racing, and I love cars in general. I do not IN ANY WAY consider myself an expert driver, but compared to some @$$holes I have witnessed around here, I might as well call myself Mario Andretti. You either have the person trying to play the part of his favorite NASCAR driver, passing people doing 105 damn near running them off the road...or the person who is off in his/her own world paying not a lick of attention to what is going on around them, most of the time doing 15-20 under the speed limit with their blinker on. A variation of the latter mentioned would be "the pacer". This type of driver rides in the passing lane of any given highway or interstate area, and stays there pacing the person they seemingly got over to pass in the first place. What f**king sense does that make? What, are you playing Checkers or some sh*t? SOME people have places to be, get back over in the right lane and take your sorry carcass to a driving school. Another great one is "the blabbermouth". This type of driver yaks into his/her cell phone with their head up their @$$, paying no mind to whats going on around them. Seriously, if you cannot operate a phone and drive, HANG UP! If you almost take out a mailbox, a guardrail, and/or another car, do us all a favor and HANG UP THE D@MN PHONE! Or go out and buy "one o them thar fancy" Bluetooth ear pieces! Another superlative example of retarded TN driver is "gas-braker". This driver tends to hang out in the left lane. They like to vary their speed from 65..dropping down to 50..then back up to 70...then back to 50...and so on and so forth. Two words: Cruise Control! Back roads are the worst ever around here. I dunno how many times some jack@$$ has almost ran me off the road because he/she cannot stay in their f***ing lane. It's a 2 way road,@$$wipe. You don't own both lanes, no matter what your crack pipe tells you. Lastly... Turn signals people, turn signals. Automotive manufacturers put them on your car for a f***king reason, and no, duct tape is NOT an acceptable substitute. Get that shit fixed IMMEDIATELY. Most of all, USE THEM!!! It is not that d@mned hard to flick the turn signal lever when you are about to negotiate a turn. It is not hard to flick the lever when you are about to get over in the left lane to pass someone, for f**ks sake use your signals! In closing, I would like to say that there are a few decent drivers here, but they are very few and far between, and usually are from another state. P.S. Drop the whole yankee thing. The civil war has been over for over 100 years. Evolve a little and show a little more class.:-)

You writers are so right! I was just thanking about starting a new post about thr drivers here ! I am not from here ( Thank God ) I left a very traffic congested state where they gave turn signals, if not you could get a ticket for improper lane chnnge. I don't thank the cops here even know what that is cause they could write thousands every day ! Also I drive to Bristol eveyday from Bluff City and at least two people pull out in front of me where i have to slam my brakes on. The sad thing about it there isnt evena car behind me ! They could have waited. I thank they like to play an old road game called chicken. Did you ever notice most of the auto deaths here if from people pulling out in front of a car ? They also ride the passing lane for miles because they are going to turn left ten miles down the road ! They talk on their cell phones going ten miles an hr brlow the spped limit, swerving all over the road doing worse than a drunk driver. TN cannot drive and the cops do nothing about it. All they can do is caech speeders.
