Hopefully they will replace him with someone who acts like they have a pulse. Kudos to the Town of Speedway.

Firing of anyone in government is a First! Have they declared a holiday in Speedway? What about a state or a national holiday? Wait til Richard Lugar or 'Wake Up' Evan Bayh gets a whiff of this news.

mccurtain was a joke...here's an idea...shouldn't the town manager live in the town...kind of like the chief of police and the fire chief should live in the town too..lets go after the police chief too...

Towns like Speedway are going to have a new town Manager every other year because people of a small town like that can't make up their mind what they want from one year to the next. Major things within a town should be put up to vote by the people who live in them and not only a few from a town board. I live in a small town and couldn't tell you the 1st thing about the person who represents my area in the town council. The same people get re-elected every year because nobody else knows what to do to get those people out of there.

Great job speedway. Just wish all towns and cities that the elected politician is not preforming is fired.

In avon we take in old town managers that were fired from another city. We just creat a new position and give them $68k per year plus perks. Cause we got so many town employees to watch over, all 20 of them. It takes 2 town managers. So a 3rd one would be better.

ELIMINATE PROPERTY TAXES
REDUCE GOVERNMENT
REDUCE SPEEDING

How do you want to reduce speeding, without more cops? That is not reducing government.

a town manager is not elected, but appointed by elected officials but thanks for looking silly....it kind of minimizes everything else you had to say

To all those 'progressives' that don't live in Speedway (James Etling, Leroy, etc.)... keep your comments to yourselves. You know nothing about Speedway or its residents, as I am. Especially if you live in the communist state of Kalifornia. That state is nothing but a bowl of cereal - full of flakes and nuts!! I for one would LOVE many of the values of the 1950's to return to this country. Things like self-dependency, less government intrusion, etc., etc.

I don't know what Mr. McCurtain did but my elected officials whom have the authority, have decided he has to go. Hmmm ... sounds like representative democracy to me. Now where have I heard of that before? You don't like it tough. Move to China.

Don't expect much from people that live in a city that brings us Bart Peterson, Julia Carson and that bunch that run the city of Indianapolis that call them selves City Counsel. Both parties.
I would suspect that with the passing of the improvements bill the old Manager either wasn't on board or they thought the under taking was going to be too much for him. Imagine Indy if you would actually vote out or fire individuals that sat in power and where in way over their heads.

Good riddance! Why did we need a manager anyway? Of course, the town council didn't tell us why we needed him and now won't tell us why they fired him. Does that make us even? Not if you count all the money we paid him in between. "Way to go, Council!
