I can't believe that the Mayor accepted the "Citizen of the year Aware"! He got this for what?? the job he's paid to do? Wow that takes guts...that award should go to someone who earned it by volunteering their time and/or money to a good cause. Not the mayor or any other elected official. Geeze what the hell is this town coming to. It's full of a bunch of egotistical people who give 2 shits about the average Joe blow. If you don't do some ass kissin you might as well hide in the shadows cause you're a nobody. I've seen it all now. Shame on you Mr. Mayor!!!

I agree whole heartedly that the Mayor --should NOT of even been in the running at all. He is a paid elected official people (Sharon). We all know that Sharon Bardonner with the Times has picked the winner herself, kissing up to the Mayor and for what? This award is for a Citizen that goes above and beyond for the Community, not an elected official. Very sad on Sharon's part that she even has a job at the Times-let alone picks the Mayor for this title. We should all be raising our eyes at this one, enough said!!

I agree! NO ELECTED officials should have been considered for this community honor. What about Mrs. Mitchell?? The Crossing guard on Maish road! She is there EVERY Morning and afternoon, in her coveralls, sock hat, gloves, scarf...escorting children across Maish Road to the Middle School.
I'm sure there are MANY Other people way more deserving than the Mayor. I have nothing against him, but him accepting this award is wrong.

I agree, fortunately most of the people don't read the Times and no one really cares who is citizen of the year. My question is, is it just a coincidence that McBarnes is citizen of the year after he wants to buy the Times Building? Shame on the Times for making such a stupid choice and Mayor McBarnes for once again putting your own personal and self glorification agenda a head of the people who elected you.

I seen it coming ever since the times was wanting the people to summit nomonies. They already had him picked! These people are something else. His administration, the chamber, the times, wilo, and soon the county will be screwing over all the people in this community. They are all the same group. I know I will be put down as a hater, just telling the truth. Watch for their next trick, these people are deseatful and dishonest.

I heard he just recently became a resident by moving downtown above a store.

Does the rest of the building pass code? Does the city have some sort of codes for housing downtown?

Alot of the old buildings downtown have apartments on the top floor. Some use that floor for storage and others use it for renting out.

Did you not get what I said? Some of them have always been apartments so I would say they pass code for that! Call the Building Inspector's Office if you really need to know.

Like Sam, Chuck, or Bud ever got an invitation to inspect those floors for occupancy.

Wish politicians and there selected officials would be honest.
