Regardless of who is running, I want to know, that when i go in to pay my taxes and i have a question, that i can ask the treasurer, right then and there during normal business hours?

Please expalin what "moral" deprivation it is that I have committed or participated in. Just because a person runs for a sit on a Board doesn't mean that you have the right to commit libel and slander against them. Everyone might want to keep that in mind. I will be glad to take the blame and the responsibility for anything that I have done. However, I have not had a single person tell me what terrible, criminal, morally unacceptable thing it is that I am accused of. W Osborn....Please, be specific, fill everyone in so that I can at least respond to hour half-veiled acqusations.

I agree that when you go in to pay your taxes you should have your questions answered right then and there. That is why there is a full time Deputy on duty all day long. Additionally, I can be reached by phone all day long - including during business hours. I can assure you that there are very few questions that my Deputy cannot answer. She is very capable and anxious to assist anyone who has a question about their taxes. Unless they are questions that really need to be directed to the Assessor. In reading these comments against Mrs. Ulrich I am shocked and appalled at the overwhelming immaturity displayed by some here. I am even more shocked that these people are registered voters. This isn't a game. This is a public election for our local government and there is no room for public slander of any candidate running for election. It is our civic duty to be informed and vote for the best candidate nothing more. Slander and mudslinging of anyone should not be tolerated nor sould it be posted on a public government website.

Let's not post anything anonymously anymore. If we have something to say we should not be afraid to post is under our name. I have asked Topix to pull this issue. They will pull it if they determine in is over the top. If not we have to live with it. I do not consider Vicki to be a friend but I know what is like to be in this position where people say things and make accusations about people. I have even had people in this community campaign and advocate for my job to be eliminated because of unsubstantiated lies and rumors which may have lead to my positions being eliminated at the Township. Some of those same people are now running for office. So while we all agree that this kind of behavior is unacceptable lets not be hypocrites either.

I will not be voting for the candidate (Julie Munro) that does not know it is illegal to put their flyers IN a mailbox. If you want to run for treasurer, you should at least have some common sense.

Ok, here's what she meant I am quite sure--

Candidates CANNOT use the inside of a mailbox to leave literature at your door.

This is typically done when they are "doing doors".

Bottom line is when people run for office there are a lot of rules and regulations that must be followed failure to do so could result in prosectution, fines, etc.....

Bottom line number 2 is that the mailbox is was and always will be federal property, even if you have to buy it yourself, and people can be prosecuted for using it for anything other than our friendly mailman leaving us our mail.

What you got from the judge's is totally different -- they paid the postage, and as such you can and will get a crap load of that stuff in your box!

I am quite interested to see what will become of the township's treasury now that, inevitably, your township will have an inexperienced and self-righteous treasurer. It is very interesting that those who would vote Republican from this township would be split on the side of someone who has attended all of one or two board meetings and has no tax or tax law experience.

I am a firm believer in truth and justice, so here's the God's honest truth about my mother, FORMER Kinross Township Treasurer: Vicki Ulrich is an extremely hard-working, dedicated and honest person. She has given her heart, soul, time and effort to this township for well over a decade now and has taken a whole-hearted interest in representing the taxpayers and residents of Kinross township and she has taken that role very seriously. I can't tell you how many days, nights and weekends she has spent on the phone with anyone who had the gumption to call and talk to her about ANY township business (and not just make foolish assumptions devoid of any truths).

As to any allegations (slander) against her regarding the embezzlements made by the deputy treasurer, I would like to challenge you to ask yourself why Vicki would HERSELF call for a complete and thorough audit of the township if she herself had been involved in any wrong-doing?? Furthermore, my mother spent hours and days of her own time ensuring that the truth was exposed and that the person responsible was held to the strictest letter of the law. The trust that she was required to have in her deputy was broken. Not only has she had to deal with her own emotions (having those who would speak before finding out the truth slander and attack her), she also had the enormously increased workload to contend with to help right what was wronged. In short, my mother, Vicki, has been more than forthcoming and honest with the public regarding this issue. Though it caused her much heartache and grief, she faced the public with squared shoulders and spoke the truth which is more than we can say for most politicians.

I don't assume that I will change anyone's mind about anything: I am well aware that certain people will never admit that they may have been misinformed. However, I cannot sit idly by and watch, read, and hear people who have NO IDEA what it's like to be on an elected board attack someone who has always been and will continue to be a pillar of truth, justice, honesty, and dedication. To Ms. Munro and Mrs. Kooiman-Kauer, I honestly wish nothing but success to you both. But just as you're enjoying your successes thus far, keep in mind all that you've observed of others who have stood beside you in protest of the board and their decisions. Know that those who feign friendship and alliance to you now can and WILL just as easily turn their backs on you the minute you face a hard decision between bad and worse. That's politics, right? Good Luck-you're both going to need it.

As for me, I will continue to be proud of my mother and all she has accomplished. I challenge each tax payer to pay close attention and keep score...you may come to find that maybe the last 17 or so years of service from the "immoral" and "dishonest" Treasurer Vicki Ulrich weren't exactly what you thought. Maybe...just maybe, you were mistaken.

The public has started to speak. It is now time to continue and remove the rest of the board members that have ruined this township. As for Miss Ulric-Carrol. It is not all about the embezelment that is at stake. Your mother with the rest of the board has turned their back at investigating crimes and other problems in the township. They still have a person at the Kinross EMS that steals drugs, and tries to frame other people. They have a good idea of who it is as they were caught lying to a police officer. Yet this person was never properly investigated, and still works at the EMS.

Well you have your ideas and everyone else has theirs. But, just in case you missed it, the public has been speaking and has spoken any and all things they have felt (true or not) for the entire 17 years my mom has been on involved with the township and most inevitably well before that too. There is and always will be at least one group that feels they have been wronged by one person or another. The old addage is true: you can't please everyone all the time. God help the board member that tries.

Well, I favored the incumbent, but as i can see it was a very close election, But now its time to learn more in detail about our other two candidates.

Atleast look at it this way, neather candidate can say what the incumbent did as ammo against the other candidate. Because they are both, new candidates. and I look forward to see and here the compairsons and to why i should vote for one or the other.
