Initially, I was pleased with the Time Warner/Comcast conversion. My cable internet connection and service was generally pretty good with Time Warner, and shortly after the conversion Comcast boosted the download speed of the service, which was great. But, in the last 2 weeks or so, my upload speed has been very poor and fluctuates wildly, which slows down anything done on the internet considerably. Nothing about my system configuration has changed, and after running numerous tests, everything seems to point to a problem with the Comcast network, but they are not willing to acknowledge that they might have a problem and that my hardware must be the culprit. Anyone else having problems of this kind? One night recently everything functioned properly and my speeds were excellent, up and down, but it didn't last more than a couple of hours and I was back to a snail's pace again. If this continues I may have to go DSL.

I can't answer comments on local forums. My e-mail works good with my address, but when I try to answer a remark on local forum it tells me my address is no good.

I have Comcast as well, and I've got to say. They've got a TERRIBLE track record for customer support or lack there of.

For two years I have been dealing with their incompetence, for two years I have been trying to get the problems with my internet fixed, for two years has my internet constantly and sporadically cut out.

Recently I contacted Andy Wise at News Channel 3 about the problem and he got me in touch with one of the big wigs who actually seemed to have fixed the problem. It's been roughly a couple of months since then, and guess, oh guess, what has reared it's ugly head again?

YES! You are correct! My internet is once again sporadically up and down. It will be working fine one second, the next, it will suddenly begin to stop working, then it will start again, immediately after it will stop, and then eventually? Poof. Gone for several hours.

I'm more than fed up with this company. Before long I will be making some serious noise about this, and I hope they never have to see me in person. If I have to go down to their offices, then. I hope they have a chosen God to help them, because I am quite frankly, pissed.

I should mention as well that each time my internet goes out, I call customer support. Let me give you some examples.

Every CSR I have spoken to ( Thats Customer Support Rep ) has told me something contradictory to another.

Many CSR I have spoken to have given me explanations that are quite simply, impossible.( Things that make no sense. And believe me, I know. I am very knowledgeable when it comes to computers.)

Many CSR have given me the explanation of "Scheduled Downtime", which I have also been told.. Is not real. Another CSR that I spoke to recently said "Well, thats not something I've ever heard of." ( This fits with the contradictory things they have told me )

Many CSR have been VERY rude to me.

Many CSR seem to lack the intelligence to do their job correctly or the know-how about this internet service to properly assist customers.( Like I really need to be walked through turning the power off and on every time I call. Do you people think I'm a friggin' retard or something?)

All in all, they're.. Pretty much just going to screw you around until you're ready to scream. You've got to be pretty persistent and willing to blow the whistle and cause some noise before they'll take you seriously.

comcast internet for me is not the problem. the phone and cable service has been a nightmare. my phone would work maybe 10 minutes one day, not at all the next. the cable constantly goes out and scares the hell out of my kids and dogs when the loud static takes the the place of scooby doo. when you call to report it, they blow you off, or just hang up on you. i plan to throw my cable box and modem threw there front door in about two weeks when i move to millington.

I actually got a supervisor down here the other day and he's allegedly trying to fix it. Though he was distant and the actual men doing maintenance were less than friendly to say the least.( The next day the maintenance guy got stung by wasps. Unfortunate and I feel bad for him.. But karma does have a way of biting you back when you're less than nice to someone that doesn't deserve it.)

So far I've been told "I'll suggest that you be reimbursed for the time lost" which.. Basically translates in their language to "Don't hold your breath. We'll take your money even if we don't provide proper service" and that the closest I could expect this fixed is Wednesday or Thursday, which.. Translated into their language means once again. "Don't hold your breath. Even if it actually seems like we fixed it, we'll screw something else up and you'll have to go through this all over again."

I can't believe all of the information I'm finding online about Comcast problems! I just googled comcast internet problems and found many posts from unhappy users. They have even described the EXACT scenarios that Comcast customer service has put me through. I've called them daily since Sunday and they still cannot fix the problem. Nothing with my hardware or setup at home has changed in several years so it has to be a problem on their end!!

Do you remember back about a month ago when they were having problems with the webstar router? I go to college online and one day the internet was not working, I am not real knowledgeable but I know a little. I called comcast and was on the phone for an hour. The CSR took me through many steps and I kept telling him that all the lights on my router were staying on. He told me that had nothing to do with anything and that it was my computer. I kept insisting that maybe it was the webstar box, he kept telling me. I was already upset and so that day I went and got a new computer. I know I should not have just listend to him but I was upset because I worry about my school work. I called comcast that night because I wanted some help and low and behold they were having trouble with the routers. I got a hold of a rep and she told me the webstar was down since sometime in the middle of the night. I asked her why this rep did not know, she said he did. Well I learned my lesson.

My service to the Internet was down from 9 am and by miracle was up at 4 pm SHARP!, started saturday. The day before (tuesday) I have seen a service truck outside around 2 oclock, So I do know the are having some issues. Concast says there is no issues. So far the Internet service is up this morning.
But they keep telling me is my hardware, will gladly come a take a look and $$$$.
I am shoping around on what is out there, seems to be we are stuck with Concast.

If we are all so unhappy and we are and for very good reason, maybe we should all call and cancel our service. The customer is always right. With enough cancellations, maybe they would finally get the message that we are fed up with irradic service, slow service, no service, selective service and over priced service.
