1 When your God provides insurance benefits, he can have a say in who does and does not get them. |

It's beyond stupid here in Michigan. We can still get the benefits - if we jump through a bunch of additional hoops. We just can't give our relationship a name or use it to qualify for certain benefits of employment.
Were benefits the issues when this amendment was passed? No. The issue was and remains conferring status upon same-sex relationships. It's all about demanding that the state treat our relationships as invalid, punishing us and encouraging us thereby to leave the state. Well, guess what. We're still here. |

1 Well, First, there's the "can't marry someone else if you're already married" thing. Second, assuming alimony were to hold up, one could legally take the other to the cleaners if they get ticked off. Third, even now the same situation exists with heterosexuals, who's to say how many simply married for convenience? Fourth, I personally know a guy that married a lesbian in the Army so she could live off base and he got the medical benefits as well as access to the commissary, there was no "checking" to confirm anything. Fifth, very few heterosexual men would openly portray themselves as Homosexuals simply for the marriage benefits, were it allowed. |

1 I don't know how they have it there, but here in order to allow insurance benefits for "partners" and such you had to show proof of living together for several years, joint checking accounts or utilities, and several other types of proof, and it wasn't limited to homosexuals. The other issue is you DO have the option of marrying, until that's allowed for same sex couples the "balance" would never be "right" to some. |
You have proof of that? If you accept this story from the Bible, then you should also accept homosexuality since it's also in the Bible. You can't pick and choose what works best for you. |

I tend to agree. The problem lies within the self-righteous holier than thou hypocritical religious fanatics who believe their way is the only way. There are thousands of religious denominations and every one of them believes to the be the correct one. It's pure ignorance from a bunch of brainwashed fools who haven't the ability of logical enlightenment. Bottom line...it doesn't hurt anyone else, why do the idiots feel the need to involve themselves? |

1 Elderly sisters sharing a home can't share coverage. Why should sodomy be a requisite? What is so pathetic about the condition of homosexuals that Americans should be undemocratically forced to provide them with discriminatory benefits and subsidies? |
