Hello!
My husband and I are considering a move back to the Midwest in the next couple of years. Anyone able to provide me with info. on life in Milford? We are in our late 20s and plan to start a family after we move. How are the schools? Can anyone provide info. on the new toll brothers communities on Lakes of Milford? Is the Milford Memories a good event to see if visiting Milford for the 1st time?
Thanks for any info!

My husband and I moved to Milford when our kids were 2 and 4. We lived "uptown" (in the village) for 10 years. We have recently built a house (reserve at lakes of milford, toll brothers). We went with this sub/builder as it was the only new sub being built in the same school system (elem, middle & high). The kids did not want to change. We love the small town atmosphere of Milford and will stay here until I can convince my husband to move somewhere warmer. The schools are great, just be involved. We loved working with Toll Brothers as well. No weird problems and any small changes we wanted to make they were fine with, also a quick turn around time on warrenty issues. Milford memories is a must if you live here or in the surrounding area. Hopefully it won't be in the upper 90's again this year!

If you are looking for a close knit community where you can meet and know your neighbors, this is the place for you.

Good luck to you and your husband.

Milford is a great community to raise a family. Many parades, community activities at Central Park, and a LOT of kids. Schools are great, but we now take our kids to Charyl Stockwell Academy near US23 and M59. They have a much better gifted/talented program for younger kids.

Yes, the old Livingston Academy I believe. Kids have been going there for the past 3 years or so.

I found your comments on Charyl Stockwell Academy interesting. The gifted program must be better the general education there. My children are undergoing tutoring as they have not learned what they need to there. They have so many children in that school with SEVERE behavioral issues that disrupt the classes and the learning of others. I know many families that left, went back to public school to find their children tested 1 to 2 grades lower than where they should be. Needless to say they were devastated. The school has lost the small school feel after the renovation and almost 700 students there. Also the principal is not available to parents. With the staff being part owners of the charter school, there is nothing a parent can do. It is a shame because their philosophy looks great on paper but is never implemented. So many great teachers have left due to the low pay while we are nickle and dimed to death above and beyond the supplies we provide.

Thanks, Kmiles!
How do you like the lakeside community? Do you know where I can find more pictures of the lake and homes since building began? We probably won't be out to MI for a peek until next year.
Thanks!

Hi! Are you still living in the Reserve at Lakes of Milford? How do you like it now? I'm interested in the Bluffs but have never lived in Milford and need to know more about the community.
Any info you could provide would be great!
Thanks!

ITS STILL A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE. THE ONLY BAD THINGS ABOUT MILFORD ARE THE PROPERTY TAXES,THE FEW BLACK PEOPLE THAT ARE STARTING TO MIGRATE FROM DETROIT AND ALL THOSE GAY LOOKING GUYS IN SPANDEX RIDING THEIR 10 SPEED MOUNTAIN BIKES UP AND DOWN GM ROAD LIKE THEY ARE LANCE ARMSTRONG OR LIKE ITS ACTUALLY SAFE TO DO THIS. IF I HAVE A CHOICE OF HITTING AN ON COMING CAR/TRUCK AT 50MPH OR A GAY LOOKING GUY ON A BIKE THEN I FEEL SORRY FOR YOUR 10 SPEED BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS BEING ON THAT SMALL 2 LANE ROAD ON A BIKE. GO TO KENSINGTON WITH YOUR BIKE IN YOUR CAR LIKE NORMAL PEOPLE. I WISH TO GOD THE CITY WOULD OUTLAW THIS ON GM ROAD BECAUSE ITS JUST NOT SAFE FOR THE DRIVERS OR THE LANCE ARMSTRONG WANNA BE.
